We have just returned on 7th feb from two week holiday. The holiday overall was good. Hotel really nice lovely big rooms although if you struggle with stairs ask for ground floor room as no hand rails on staircase and no lifts to rooms. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful as was the Thomson rep Hyacinth. The only thing to have a little moan about would be the service at the bars. There is a big thing about tips so if you have money in your hand you will get served no problem but if you're not flashing the cash you may well have a long wait for your drink.
You can get a bit stir crazy as there is nothing round about the complex and the taxis are quite expensive but there is always something happening around the place. The beaches are man made so don't expect beautiful Caribbean sands but they are kept clean and you have a choice and for us was preferable to go to the beach to get a little breeze and be away from the noise around the pool,
The food we thought was very good and the choice is really good. The Indian restaurant was our favourite.
Don't take Jamaican dollars. Us dollars are used in the complex and when you go out. We took Jamaican dollars and everything was priced up Usd and they even had to work it out how much in their own currency. The casino will only accept Usd and we couldn't change any money in the hotel for Usd only Jamican.
Hope this is of some help.
