“Just an average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011

Didn't have any bad experiences, but this isn't a 4 star hotel. The room was allright, but had no view and a very small balcony. The tv is too small to read subtitles from the bed, so you will have to do without or sit in a chair in front of the tv. The curtains had a few stains and it all looks pretty outdated.
But the bed was good and the breakfast (except the orange juice) was tasty.

Room Tip: Running or cycling in the area is great!

“Nothing wrong with this hotel, we had a great stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 February 2011

We stayed in this hotel on our way back home from Germany and it was a great surprise. The hotel is really nice, large reception area with friendly staff, very nice trendy decorated restaurant. We arrived on a sunday afternoon and it was busy because of a organized walking tour which started just outside the hotel, it all looked very nice. Going to the rooms we noticed that the corridors could do with some paint and new carpets, the room itself was also a little dated. But there was nothing wrong, all was fine. Good shower, good beds, quiet, everything what a hotel room needs to be. In the morning a very good breakfast. We booked through the hotel's own website and had a very good rate, we wil certainly stay here again.

“Very nice stay, worth the value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 April 2010

The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful park. Rooms are quite large, and comfortable.
Breakfast was good, except for the orange juice (which has an artificial flavour).
Very nice staff indeed, and especially a good atmosphere.
What's more, our 7 months old son had his first swimming ever at their pool !

“Nightmare”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2009

This was the greatest disaster we have ever experienced in a hotel. The room was extremely dirty, bathroom and toilet even disgusting. (I have photo's of that as well but they are not suitable for publishing)

The furniture was a joke and on the walls there were damages and marks every square meter.
What a shame to call a hotel like this ***.

We applied for another room the minute we came in but this was not possible.
The staff was not very flexible at all. The manager no were to find.

At the time we arrived the wellness area and the pool were both under construction,
(although we explicitly informed after this when booking!)
on all floors there was a penetrating smell of fresh paint, whereas the carpets were worn-out like they were from another century.

We had booked a weekend away for our aniversery, they thoroughly wrecked as you can't do it over again. No way we will ever return here.

“Restaurant closes at 7:30!?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2007

This was the nearest hotel to Nijmegen that we could find that was not fully booked for the night we needed, despite being a weekday. We arrived in the evening and on discovering just how far it was from the centre of Nijmegen, we were pleased that it was a hotel *and* restaurant.

Uh-oh. We had arrived a little after 8pm and were told that the hotel restaurant stopped serving food at 7:30! The receptionist was able to book us into a restaurant about 5 minutes' taxi drive away, but even this stopped serving before our two other colleagues arrived on a later train!

This was already the second issue we had had. On arrival we discovered that the bookings for the five of us were at different rates for the same standard of room. These had been booked by a secretary all at the same time, presumably via a booking website, and we had been told one rate on our paperwork. Nevertheless, it appeared impossible to get the same advised (lower) rate for all of us when we signed in. Not the end of the world, but annoying.

Other than that, personally my stay was OK. Nothing special, but OK. The front of the hotel was being renovated and one of my colleagues complained that this was disruptive to his sleep (I think it was the smell of paint). It suprised me that the hotel was renting out rooms for which building work was actively taking place immediately outside the windows. I was glad that I had been allocated a room at the other side of the hotel.
