Booked a two night three rounds of golf inclusive; dinner, bed and breakfast, stay via Your Golf Travel. Arrived on Thursday before our room was ready but staff looked after luggage while we had a coffee and snack before we played our first round. On return staff were helpful and friendly, which we found to be the case throughout our stay. The room (208) was perfectly acceptable with typical furnishing for this type of hotel. I left a comment about the window frame needing a touch of paint but that apart everything else was fine. We had dinner in the hotel on both nights. A reasonable choice of courses on the menu with a number of items at a supplement of £2 or £4. Our three courses were well prepared and presented without being over the top. The service was excellent throughout, attentive without being intrusive. The wine sold by the glass is rather expensive, around £7 upwards for 250ml but the choice and quality is reasonable. For breakfast there is a cold buffet offering cereals, juices, pastries or a choice of freshly cooked hot options, again modest supplements depending on your choice, the poached haddock with poached egg was plus £2 and I thought worth it but the full english is available at no extra charge.
The golf course was fine, not overly challenging and we were fortunate to have glorious sunny weather for both Friday and Saturday although the rain that had fallen previously made it very muddy in parts. The golf bar serves very good light meals and snacks which we enjoyed and are obviously a cheaper option than the restaurant.
We had a very enjoyable visit, received good service from all the staff, eat good food and al at a perfectly reasonable overall cost. We plan to visit again later in the year.
