I stayed at the hotel just for 2 nights in February and can say it worth it for the money you pay. The stuff are very helpful, friendly and speak English and German besides Spanish, of course. :) I asked by the e-mail after my reservation for a room in exact block but they didn't have free at the moment and they gave me a room with a good enough location and view to the garden. The service is really good and the people on the reception explain you in detail everything you need and give you a copy with map of the hotel, all the services you can use and the conditions, the prices for them, the work time, etc. The hotel is very clean as whole, the room and bathroom are big enough. There is big garden on different levels with a few swimming pools and 2 bars. The spa includes a swimming pool with jacuzzi area and 2 saunas. The water was warm enough and the atmosphere is relaxing, just maybe some appropriate music would be a great addition (as recommendation). The food was delicious and varied but maybe is good to have more fruits and different deserts. The good is that always have fresh juices (mix of fruits). The only problem for someone could be just the distance from the beach and that the hotel is situated up at the hill, so it's not so easy to reach it by walking. For me was not a problem but for those who don't like climbing the hill there is local buses and a stop in front of the hotel. In the hotel you can find maps and the schedule of the buses. And another little minus is that the hotel is practically open so always when you have to reach the restaurant, the disco, the spa or the reception you're actually outside and in the winter when it's too windy as it was one of the days and the nights of my stay, it's not so comfortable. I enjoyed my short stay and would recommend Barcelo Jandia Mar as a place for holiday. And not at last place is Playa del Mattorral - and amazing long beach with white fine sands, crystal emerald water, wild animals - squirrels (very friendly and just adorable) and birds.

Stay at the resort from 25 jan for a week the room was clean and large the staff helpful .this was the first time I had gone a/I .allways a good choice of food as long as you like fish pork or goat . Beer on tap and spirts at the bar the pool area was clean the pool look great but unheated and way to cold to swim in . Steep hill to beach but we could cut though the player .if I had a complant it would be the cost of the wifi at 6 euros a day I would stay here again as think it was great value for money

We stayed at the Jandia Mar from 7th January for 2 weeks, this was our 3rd time staying here, our previous visits were in 2005 and 2006. Although we saw a few changes this time, which we put down to the current economic crisis, the Barcelo Jandia Mar still provides a great service. The staff are very helpful and friendly, everywhere from our rooms to communial areas are kept clean and tidy.Mozzies love me and we did have a couple in our room, but within an hour of reporting it to reception we had a can of spray delivered to our room. We have never had this problem before I think it may have been down to us being on the ground floor in block 4, which had alot of greenary outside our terrace.
We used the spa this visit, partly due to the fact that our previous visits were in August, so we used the outdoor pools on these occasions, so indoor pool was a bonus this time round. There is also a jacuzzi and sauna which are all free to use in your all inclusive package. We splashed out on a massage each too, which was amazing and very good value for the money.I have read reports of cold meals???? Did not come across this ourselves, but then I do eat alot of salads, although I accompany this with some kind of fish or meat and I never had any problems. One thing my husband and I always like to do at least once while we are on holiday and that is to experience one of the local fish restaurants and seeing that it was in fact our 5th visit to the resort of Jandia we have our favourite and that is in Morrel Jable, which is a small fishing village attached to Jandia, a 3 Euro taxi ride or a nice stroll along the beautiful beach or along the paved promenade. So overall we loved our holiday, yes if you really look hard you may find a bit of paint work that could do with touching up or an odd loose tile in the loo, but you are on holiday, relax and enjoy the good things its all over far too quickly.

We stayed at the Barcelo from 7/1/2012 for a week. First impressions WOW, POSH. Yes in the main areas. Room ok very basic for a 4 star. There were rusty bin marks on floor,dust on main units. T V no remote control and old . Only two channels for English folks. No shelve in bathroom,but there was a PLASTIC table. Food always cold although plentiful.Staff eager to take plates away as soon as the knife and fork hits the plate. Wouldn't stay there again.
