“Not quite what it looked like in the brochure”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I want to start by saying that I had a reasonable time at this hotel, but it really isn'y anything like the pictures in the brochure. It is an apart-hotel without the kitchenette. The room we stayed in was tired, the bathroom was chipped and the toilet loose. There was an infestation of tiny ants in the room which seemed to get everywhere.

The heated pool wasn't heated and my kids didn't really like it. It was FREEZING in there. But the location on the beack was quite good, and the snack bars and bars were nice in the evenings.

The beach is a mixture of clothed and nudists so be warned!

The cafeteria is a bit of a stress zone; many people rushing about to the buffet and it was quite aggressive in there. I got stamped on a fair bit whilst trying to get food.

Would I go again? No thanks.

“Rooms definitely not four star”

Stayed here for one week in half term. Room was very small for 4 people and beds very hard and floor was dirty and our first night was spent with us having to listen to the couple next door getting up to all sorts which is terrible as we should not have been able to hear them! We could actually hear them go into their bathroom and go to the toilet as well. There was obviously no sound proofing. It was very embarrassing with our children asking what the noises were coming from next doors bedroom! After a sleepless night We asked our rep the following morning to move us for our childrens sake, and after she had spoken to reception she told us that there were no rooms available until the following day. We said this was totally unacceptable given what our children (aged 8 and 10) had listened to the night before so went and complained to reception ourselves who firstly said the same but after talking to their boss we were offered another room which was much quieter. I did email thomsons head office to complain prior to this but the hotel moved us before thomsons came back to us. Thomsons could have phoned us as we had left our number but they just sent an email. Needless to say we weren't very impressed with the rep or Thomsons. The food choice was generally good and the pool areas were stunning so it was a shame the rooms let this hotel down. I understand it is being refurbished next month but unless they sort the rooms out and the sound proofing I fail to see how it can be reopened as a 5 star next year.

“Excellent holiday !!”

We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children ages 4 & 7yrs. Just returned from fab 2 week stay at Jandia Princess, well worth the hour transfer from the airport. Check in was quick and friendly, ask for bottled water for your room much needed the first night. The restaurant was opened at 10:30 pm for cold buffet and drinks until midnight. I would recomend requesting a higher level room to avoid issues with mosquitos. Our bed wasnt the comfiest but the sofa bed was made up ready for the children on arrival, the room we had was only few minutes walk from the main building and pools. Maid service was excellent, towels changed and beds made, clothes folded every day. But it had to be the entertainment that made our holiday having two young children, the mini disco at 8 is good fun and the professional shows were really very good. Bingo was a bit of a bore to win a bottle of bubbly tho ! A trip to Oasis Park is a must, the camel safari up the mountain is a great experience for a few extra euros. There is also a nice bird park in Jandia which admission allows you to return as many times as you like within a week of paying your entrance fee. Overall, very clean hotel, helpful friendly staff, fantastic food would return/recommend.

Room Tip: Request a sea view

“Quite Resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Booked Club Jandia Princess for a week at Easter, it was a late booking as everything else seemed booked up. We were disappointed that it wasn't the traditional type hotel, it seems more like apartments, didn't like the idea of having to walk outside in the grounds late in the evening/night when leaving the main building as there was no accommodation in the main building. One evening it poured rain and walking into the main building it was quite slippery on the tiles outside but the hotel had put towels on the ground. There are lots of trees and shrubs in the main reception area. Reception staff were very helpful. Restaurant was spacious and very clean. Food was good with a good selection available. We were all inclusive and at meal times you could pour your own wine, beer etc. Entertainment was disappointing, in fact it was boring. There is nothing in the area so you really are depending on the hotel as it looks like an area which is being developed. You can reach the beach by a lot of steps at the back of the hotel, the beach is lovely really sandy. We walked to the local town by the beach which is a few miles. There are a number of pools at the hotel, one nudist which is at the bottom of the hotel and is secluded. Part of the beach is nudist.
I noticed they catered for late arrivals.
We had room with balcony which was clean and spacious. Not sure the room was very sound proof.

We went to the weekly market in the local town which was a complete waste of time.

be rented. Spacious restaurant, food was good with plenty of variety.

“Great relaxing break.”

Fab hotel in a great spot. Most of the staff were friendly but none more so than the cleaners. They were lovely. Hotel is clean and tidy. Yes it could do with a lick of paint but that really shouldn't take away from your holiday. Pools are fab, We took two of our boys away with us aged 3 and 7 and they loved the main pool. They also loved the beach which is not owned by the hotel so is a little 'rustic' and you do have to pay for the sun loungers but it doesn't break the bank. The sea is lovely and warm and not too deep for little ones. Be aware that the hotel is situated on the side of the cliff so you do have to take steps down to the beach which could be hard work if you tire easily or are not so able bodied. Food was fabulous in mine and my husbands opinion. Something new every day, I never got tired of it and I'm a very fussy eater as are my boys. One little gripe, our room was not very big. Pics on First Choice website and in their brouchure are a little mis-leading. Not too much of a problem though because we weren't in it much. We had fresh bed linen everyday and clean towels although we'd not put the towels on the floor to be washed as requested.
All in all a really great place to spend some quality time with the family.
