Our ferry arrived in St Malo about 4.30 pm. Including a 15 minute stop on the motorway at Aire de Trellieres (good cafe, shop and clean toilets), it took us 2 hours 30 minutes to reach the Oceania which is very close to Nantes Airport. There was a large car park with no charge for guests. Check-in was excellent.
The room was clean, modern with a large glassed walk-in shower room that had excellent water pressure for a French hotel. It had modern wooden flooring, but we heard no noise from other guests above or below us. There was a LCD TV. with an English news channel, BBC24 I think.
We ate in the hotel restaurant for dinner. The waiters were young with a very limited knowledge of English but it wasn't a problem . The meal was excellent for 19 Euros 50, with several choices for each course. I had Beef Carpaccio with Basil for starters, Lamb on a skewer with Garlic sauce, then the most yummy Chocolate Tarte, finished with one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had in a hotel.
There was nothing nearby to do after dinner so we walked to Nantes Airport and had a look round the shops there. The weather was not suitable to try out the hotel's pool.
The bed was comfortable but had no top sheet, just a duvet cover. There were no tea & coffee making facilities but breakfast at 12 Euros 50 included omelette, toast, sausage, freshfruit salad, nectarines, strawberries, apple compote, croissants, ham, yoghurts, cereal and dried fruits.
An excellent hotel to start or finish a holiday on.
