Fantastic building and surroundings. Beautiful interior and pool area. We booked the standard room and were upgraded, however, the room we were given had not been cleaned properly. It was as though it had not been used for quite some time. Many mosquitoes some dead on the window sill and others still alive. There was a strange insect type noise and resultantly we asked to be moved. I should say that the room was nice though. The only other room available was a standard room which was equally as nice and very clean. Worth the move. Staff were polite at all times.
The hotel is in the sticks and you needed a car. Todi is about 15-20 minute drive away so no dinner and wine for me! That said Ristorante Umbria in Todi a must! Smoked duck to start (wonderful) and BBQ'd wild boar for main - delicious. Highly recommended.
The pool is devine and in a beautiful setting. We ordered lunch - some sandwiches (so small we had to order 2 each) and because we ordered twice we were charged 2 x service charge at something ridiculous like 10 euros per time. It doubled the cost of lunch - we complained and they reduced it by half. Shameful!
We didn't eat in the restaurant - vvv expensive and lacked atmosphere - in retrospect I would have dreaded to think how much the service charge would have been!
Breakfast (included) was very very nice.
All in all though - if you've got a few quid to spend and don't mind being out of the town - it is a pretty good hotel.
