Stayed there for a night during a trip to Scotland's distilleries. Fortrose is just off the beaten track in northern Scotland, quite convenient to Inverness and other great spots. The hotel itself is located in a quaint, typical Scottish town, and fits in perfectly.
The rooms are quite comfortable, and the food in the restaurant downstairs is second to none. The fresh, local menu changes daily, and has a wide selection of option. We had three fantastic meals, the best of our trip. We then moved next door into the pub. The list of scotches is unending, and there are countless beers available. Some the traditional, others you've likely never heard of, and that's the fun of it. I strongly recommend the Black Hole. It'll knock you on your seat, but it's one of the best I've ever tasted.
About 10 minutes from the hotel, you can play a round of golf with a beautiful background, or if you catch it right, watch dolphins playing in the bay.
I'd stay there again in an instant.
