“Huge Hotel out in Nowhere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2010

Very nice and huge hotel outside Milano in the area of Assago. The service is extraordinary and language is no issue. The rooms are modern and simpe, but very nice for business needs. Unfortunately no free Wi-Fi access. A real highlight was the breakfast which was included in the price. Freshly brewed coffee and a vast variety of fresh juices, breads and fruits ! For a trip to Milano city it´s a little far outside. However, overall a hotel of the higher standard. Would go there again any time.

We really thank you for your comment about our hotel.

As you wrote, Royal Garden Hotel is just outside Milano but, within the end of this year, a new stop of the subway will be opened, close to the hotel, so that it will be easier to reach the town center.

We don't offer free WI-Fi Access, but we just changed our internet supplier and now the connection is available at a very low price.

In hopes of having you as a guest again soon, please accept my best wishes for the future.

“Good for business, not good for tourists”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2010

This is a good hotel but unless you have business nearby or a function at the Forum next door you should stay somewhere near your interests. I stay at this hotel a few nights a year on business and find it very convenient to the industrial parks nearby. The hotel is comfortable and clean and the rooms are spacious. The only complaint I have is the slow check in / check out that plagues this hotel year in and year out. On every visit dealing with the front desk is a chore and speed is not one their strong points. Overall, it's a nice place to stay for business. You absolutely need a car if you are staying at this hotel.

“Touch of luxury”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2009

Hotel is located in business district of Milano, faaar away from the centre. So, if you are not on a business trip and your office is located near the hotel, think twice before booking this hotel. Taxi to centre is expensive (30-50 euro), and cheaper versoin is bus+metro, which takes at least 45 minutes.
But hotel is very nice and clean, beautiful garden, big rooms. Great, really great breakfast. One of best I`ve ever had in any hotel.
Compering prices to other MIlano hotel I would say this is fair.

“My favourite hotel when travelling to Milan for business”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2008

This is my favourite Hotel when I am sent to work in Milan. I usually stay there because the hotel is close to Basiglio and surrounded by calm and peace.
I am very sorry to hear the poor reviews that this hotel has received by the tourists from the US or the UK.
THIS IS NOT a good hotel for someone who want to visit MILAN for pleasure. However it's close to the popular NAVIGLI area, famous in Milan for the night life.
The hotel is very clean, the people at the reception are friendly and I am always happy when I have to stay there.

ASSAGO IS NOT A GOOD LOCATION FOR VISITING THE CITY and even if it's not that far from the city centre, with the traffic in the morning can take about 1 hour drive.

  • Liked — the rooms, the garden and the gazebo outside, the breakfast etc etc
  • Disliked — the mosquitos in the summer in the garden...

“Theres Good News and Bad News !!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 March 2007

First the good news.....This hotel is very good in terms of how hotels should be. It is very clean, quite plush, rooms are excellent (except there was no kettle, tea, or coffee in the room !), resteraunt and food quality good. It is set in its own pleasant gardens and the staff are attentive and helpful........Now the bad news......The hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere !! The nearest town has nothing there so to speak and the taxi's whilst prompt when ordered via the hotel, it costs a minuimum of 20euros into central Milan. Its 10 euros to the nearest subway station so you may as well just stick with the taxi! If the hotel was in a central position it would be a popular choice, but sadly its location is bad bad bad! Ive read somewhere that it is claimed its 6km from the city, ...I think that is the city border as its actually outside Milan itself. If you dont mind staying out of town and paying the cab fares then id say go ahead and book, but if not then avoid at all costs!

  • Liked — cleanliness, quality of hotel, good food.
  • Disliked — location
