“Need renovation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

We stayed at this hotel which was a luxurious and quality but got very disapointed when we got there...
We were upgraded to the last floor called Aile Privilege supposed to be event better but there is no privilege there... Elevator have drills hole in the wall, carpet are dirty and need to be change (not cleaned), bed are not comfortable and overused sheet seems to be very used also, the furniture look old and crappy. There was only 1 night table on one side of the bed, no alarm clock, old tube TV not working properly, no bottled water, cheap bathroom product. all this for 265$ per night.
Dont go there.. nor Cheribourg it's the same owner.. I been there many years ago and it was much better.. now it does'nt worth the money.
The place has a very good potential, the room has a balcony, fire place and some little kitchen. But unless they invest money to make it better..Go at Estrimont, rooms have been renovated and the're still investing money to keep it up to date.

Room Tip: Room at the last floor facing the lake

“Over priced and under served.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011

We paid a ton for what we thought was a four star hotel by American standards. Unfortunately, Quebec standards are extremely less. Though we paid for only the economy room, one would think that $200 a night, off-peak, on a weekend would be a decent room. Our room, overlooking a storage room with a massive air-conditioner sticking out, ancient television, flithy bed cover, and tiny bed, as well as old and falling apart bathroom, was equivalent to what a side of the road motel would qualify for in the U.S. Since we were on vacation, we tried our best to make the best of a bad situation. The area around the hotel is quite lovely, though the "lake" the hotel is on is neither private nor a lake. And, the equipment included with your room price are bikes with broken gears and canoes with spider webs. You can drive to either Magog or go climb a mountain near by, both lovely activities, but driving distance from this terrible "destination".

Oh, and did i mention the completely useless and rude staff? The front desk neither cares about the guests nor the impression they make. Fighting to talk to a manager or even get a name is a two hour process. And, the chances of your manager being on duty at all in the time you visit is slim.

This is a horrible hotel in a gorgeous region. i suggest booking something in one of the town instead.

Dear Mrs. EastCoastSoutherner ,
Because we care about the comments we are receiving from our guests, were taking the time to evaluate the review you have written about our hotel.

First of all, we don’t understand why you have not reported your dissatisfaction earlier.
Concerning the different points of your dissatisfaction, we feel that it is important to specify certain things; The Manoir des Sables is a real four stars hotel, and the ratings in Canada are very close to those in the United States.

Furthermore, it is one of our top priorities to give a good service to our guests. Also, the different prices available are competitive and representative of North America.

Unfortunately, the fact that it is an anonymous review makes it impossible for us to check the room you stayed in and clarify certain details. But the rooms we are offering to our guests are first-rate, clean, and spacious, and include a minimum of a queen size bed with a clean bed cover, as you can see on our website.

The Manoir is located at the center of the golf course, and, of course, we can't compare the lake on the site to the size of the Memphrémagog Lake. But, according to the Cambridge Dictionary, a lake is a large area of water surrounded by land and not connected to the sea except by rivers or streams. The lake ''Écluse'' beside the hotel fits in this category. Also, all of the equipment available for our guests is not broken.

Considering the majority of the reviews we are receiving every day concerning the Manoir des Sables, our guests are satisfied and appreciate this hotel. We are very sorry you don’t feel the same, but if you had let us know your dissatisfaction while you were with us, we would have been able to meet your expectations and even exceed them.

Best regards

“Luxurious Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

This is a very classy hotel - we normally stay in budget motels but were able to make an exception for this trip. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable and we had Wifi.

“Great place for business and leisure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

Well located near " Parc du Mont Orfod " for alpine and crosscountry skiing, snowshoeing and skating on the premises in winter. Near lake Memphremagog for water sports and a golf course right next to the main entrance. Few miles away from the charming little town of Magog. Cruises on the lake heading to U.S. boarder with frequent departure.

Personnel is very courteous, rooms are spacious and clean and have a good view from almost every angle. Suites have a fire place and many other facilities.

Food is excellent with a fairly good wine list. Breakfast buffet has good variety.

“Friendly Staff - comfortable lodgings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 March 2011

We stayed 5 nights in a small suite - included is a seperate closed bedroom with a comfortable king bed , a TV , a fireplace and a swank bathroom -- - the living room was well furnished including TV , small fridge and microwave --we elected the optional hot breakfast in the sunlight filled DR every morning (usual fare and good) --- in this hotel is a well heated indoor pool ,also a hot tub and excercise room all of which we found clean ---parking is plentiful and free --- the hotel was quiet during our stay, I'd guess there were no other rooms occupied in our wing - the hotel is located in a pastoral area well off the road ---
Closeby Mont Orford offers excellent skiing --- the Town of Magog, also closeby has all services we sought and several restaurants are nearby ---
We had a favourable experience and would stay here again.
