First hotel I have stayed in where I had to make my own bed. Matress seen better days pillows of poor quality gave no support. Bathroom floor not cleaned, shower tray needed repair. Bette stay for same price at rival chain.

We stayed here for one night as a stop-over. We paid £32.50 which we thought was a good price as it was only booked a few days before. Receptionist on arrival was friendly and helpful. We were disappointed that no travel cot had been setup as I had requested this in advance and it had not been recorded on the booking. The receptionist did get this sorted very quickly though.
The rooms were comfortable and have everything you need. Although we did not mind that it was a little dated, there were small details such as ripped net curtains that if replaced could improve the overall appearance.
We used the Little Chef next door for breakfast and although these are a little pricey, there service was excellent (and quick) and the food was good.

This is one of the old style Travelodge and I had forgotten how comfortable they are compare to the new ones: shelves and proper rail for your clothes, ( bring your own hangers, only 4 in our room ), bedside tables with shelves below, bedside lights above the bed, wall and ceiling lights ( nice bright room ) and a proper armchair !

The place could do a little makeover but it was very CLEAN, which to me is the most important thing.

We made 2 separate bookings for our 2 days stay in a family room as we took advantage of the £10 a night offer and we were able to stay in the same room.

We could not get extra pillows on the first night, all allocated, fair enough but we did get them on the 2nd night without asking again.

In all the Travelodge family rooms we have stayed, we had to make the 3rd bed ourselves but not in this one, all the beds were ready on your arrival, very much appreciated !

It is a bit dated and has seen better times, but is kept very clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful. I stayed 3 nights achieved via 2 separate bookings (in order to bring overall price down). The helpful lady at reception realised this and allocated the same room to me for all 3 nights which meant I didn't need to move for my final night, which is appreciated.

The Aldi close by is handy. They do cash-back if you pay by debit card i.e. that's probably the nearest place to get cash. There is a Lloyd's Bank cash point opposite the local library 5 minutes' walk from the Travelodge.
