While holidaying in Tartane this year, my fiance and I visited the restaurant in the Baie du Galion hotel. We were recommended to go there by the lovely and very helpful reception staff, who went out of their way to show us where it was. From there, things went downhill. The price for the buffet was more than we had been told at reception. We were brought to a filthy table and it took them ages to clean it for us. We had no sooner arrived than the staff began clearing away the buffet which had very little choice, and no meat dishes at all. I could not begin to describe how awful, tasteless and cold everything was. They should have told us before we paid at the door on the way in that there wasn't much left and it had been sitting out for a long time. After dinner, when we ordered tea and coffee, which was included, we were told to walk downstairs to the bar below and get it ourselves! Unbelievable, staff horrible, would have complained in person but was too weak from hunger and lacking in the French to explain how bad things were. It really spoiled our night and we are not fussy eaters at all.
