Rooms & Bathroom: Aircon OK but noisy; floor filthy (toenail clippings on floor!!!); surfaces unhygenic (grub marks on remote control, light switches); tv is the very small size, but ok, but no int'l channels, except for CNN though very weak signal so bad picture. Amazing sea view from balcony!. Rooms are generally very very tired, in need of at least a basic refresher...
Bathroom is sad: toilet seat broken, no hot water when I tried to shower- (staff even doubted me when I said so); showerhead and taps are very very old;

Staff:
not as friendly or nearly as helpful as suggested in other reviews (asked for extra pillows- told to come & collect after 10 mins from reception cause understaffed).

Breakfast: the worst I have Ever Ever had!!!! Try yesterdays toast, yesterdays boiled eggs, plain bread, watermelon, tomatoes, cheap fatty ham, processed cheese slices, coffee ok, really poor! Old tired cutlery, one old grandpa doing the running, tables not set, what a fiasco!!
Sooooooo much potential, becase the facilities aren't that bad at all, it's just sooo badly managed!
For €50 a night it is unacceptable but doable bcause of location. For €70 it is a major ripoff!!! If you have €70pn, go elsewhere.

We find out about potamaki from our friend how great holidays and fun was
the hotel has ammazing rooms with view at sea which is just 15 meter away actually you feel like floating in the boat having your drink at balcony. very clean the food was ammazing and tasty the staff is excellent and very friendy willing to help you at any moment .But this wasnt that impress me the the most as the hotel is the only place at benitses that you can entertain realy your self it does lots of night shows such greek nights where me and my friends we were realy dancing like hell and learn this strange but very enjoyable kind of dance. i will never forget the fakir show which i was actually steping at the performer neck which he has it on a sharp shord.
WOW it was realy fun after the shows there was more that just said we was night swimming or drinking at the beach which was just some steps away.

I suggest without second though to spend your holidays there.

I have visited Corfu Island last year.(beautiful place). The only problem on my vacation was the ****"hotel", i called it The Sanatorium. The pictures on the internet were purely science fiction. Every thing was bad, the room, the hotel, the view(a wall), there was no ac and the room was incredible hot.
No parking place for the car,the staff very unfriendly, so what can i say.....nightmare
Advice,do not choose this Hotel, after my opinion the worst hotel in my life for the price paid .

This hotel is in a prime position and although now quite old must have been supreme in its day. The views are fabulous both of the bay and the mountains. The rooms are very spacious and well kept - wonderful comfy beds and soft white towels. That said - yes,some modernisation is needed especially bathroomwise but is no different from your typical Greek bathroom.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful - both day and night staff (and cleaners). Always a smile for everybody.

Having said that, this hotel caters more for the continenental clientele so if you are expecting the great British breakfast - forget it! However, what was provided was fresh daily and well presented. The rooms are that cheap you can skip the hotel breakfast and treat yourself at "Big Bite" . Fab brekkies and meals at all time (Greek also) good wine & say hello to Vera! Also visit Niko's taverna next door to Potomaki - delicious Greek food and good pleasant service.
