“Honeymoon in hotel Oddyseus”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

Hotel Oddyseus is placed in very nice nature. But this was just only one advantage. We have been there for eight days in the beginning of August 2011.
Food was poor, dinners were kind of ok for first - two or three days, later it was too spice or not tasty for us. Breakfasts were each second day the same - eggs.
Mostly I am complaining because when we decided for this hotel we have read mostly positive reviews, and we have decided because of what people - visitors had written.
When we were there we had super stinky room, because some animal or something... - cat or rat died somewhere around. Some recommendations from lady in reception were that we shoud not open and use balcony and we should not use air condition for the room and for the bathroom. Later on - after four days, they change room for other little more expensive room which was free of charge for us It happened after our fourth complaining.
Beds - even if they are together, beds had separated mattresses - so you can hurt yourself by wooden middle part- wall of the When we asked, why is that, they say, that mattress together has just family rooms.
Don't go there if you are not very - "skromny" - modest and if you expect comfort. Even our second room, has no normal ventilation in the bathroom - or it has but air was going to the corridor. Bathroom was so small, that you were taking shower almost in the main room not in the bathroom. You could also hear TV-noise from others rooms.
Sea, diving, beaches, trips around was very nice - but this has nothing to do with hotel.

“Really good value for money (you get slightly more than what you pay for - don't expect 5 stars if you don't pay for it)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We're a couple of 29yr olds, and we've stayed in Odysseus for 2 weeks on HB basis.
In short - a nice, family run hotel. Definitely good value for money, but it may get a little bit boring for people, who are not eager to travel around a little, and prefer the hotel pool over a beach (and who are staying there for longer than a week).

The food & service was really good. It's amazing how efficient & friendly the breakfast & dinner service can be (many thanks to the lady in charge!). I'm quite a picky eater, but I could always find something really tasty. The meals are run in a repeatable cycle in a degree, but generally it was fairly varied & really good quality food.

The entertainment - well, not really our cup of tea (more suited to people around 50 and above), but still, certainly more than other same-price-range hotels offered.

Room - very clean (I think the sheets were changed each 2 days or so - or even each day! towels changed each day). The shower needed some minor maintenance, but overall, all slightly worn but certainly in good, very clean shape (to a 3 star standard I guess).
Fair size balcony with direct sun light (if you get a sea view room).

Pool - slightly small & shallow. Does the job if you want to cool down though - we prefer beaches over pools, so can't really comment as we don't use them anyway! :)

Location - as I said above, if you plan to stay for more than a week, and you don't feel like travelling a little, or having a 10min walk to a nice beach - this is not a hotel for you. For us, it was a great base for our travels, where we could chill out, and stay in for few days just to chill out at the nearby beach. For party-loving people - I guess La Grotta is a nearby (20min walk) club where you normally can get some good fun, unfortunately, the place was completely dead at the beginning of June. The hotel itself is rather in a quiet part of Paleo.
There is a small shop right next to the hotel - very handy. Also nice olive tree gardens are within 10min walk.

Rubbish beach - 5min walk
Nice 2 beaches - 15min walk.

Really good restaurant (if you're on SC) just opposite the hotel - Horizon. Excellent food, and outstanding service. The owner is a local artist, so the food and general atmosphere of the place reflect it in the best possible way.

Car rental turned out to be the cheapest via the hotel, at the reception (don't get ripped off by local rental places - it's a monopoly belonging to one guy!!!).

... and make sure you rent a motorboat for at least a day - the guys at the port (speaking perfect English) can rent it for 35 EUR + fuel or so (get the 50 EUR with a stronger engine though!) - definitely worth it! it was the highlight of our holiday.

Room Tip: Definitely worth getting sea-view room ;)

“One of the greatest places...”

My husband and I and our friends, a couple, stayed at the Odysseus Hotel for our summer vacation. First of all, I would like to say that without any question of doubt, this hotel is a pleasure to stay in. It is a familly run hotel and the stuff is really friendly and helpful with anything you are asking for.
The location is stunning, the views are spectacular and the water is so blue and clear so that swimming and bathing is wonderful.
The rooms are very clean, large and extremely confortable, with AC without extra tax. The sea view from our room was magnificient.
The food- we really enjoyed the food, iit was good, very tasty and variate. Their food always tasted really fresh. As for the meat lovers, they always served two kind of meat and they served cooked vegetables, and a few starches (ex. roasted potatoes, pasta, etc...). Included in these items were some traditional greek dishes too.
Paleokastritsa is very close from the town city, Kerkyra, about 20 km. The scenery is gorgeous and the people are really nice.
There are four beaches close to the hotel. Two of them were sandy and the other were rocky . You can do as much or as little as you want, from lying on beaches, in one of the many coves to hiring a boat, which we did for two days, touring the Paleo coastline, which is stunning.
I advise you to not pay attention at the negative comments that some people have posted.Sincerely, I do not know, nor understand why they had to do it.
Go and visit Corfu, Paleokastritsa specially, check-in at The Odysseus and you will have a wonderful holliday.

Room Tip: Pick a superior sea view

“Simply the Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011

Kim and I have just returned from Paleokastritsa having got married in Corfu. In all, there were 32 of us in the resort, 14 of which stayed at the Odysseus Hotel.
I have to say, without any question of a doubt, the Odysseus is the place to stay. Stunning location and close to everything. Most importantly, Korina and her staff were 'Simply the Best'. Nothing at all was too much for them making everyone feel very much at home. Forget any negative feedback (and there have been one or two listed), because we had absolutely no issues at all and our visit was towards the end of the season.

“Superior Sea View room, is a must.....”

These rooms are a complete luxury. From the large, tasfully furnished rooms, marble bathrooms to the magnificent views from the large balcony.
The hotel is family run and they will do their utmost to make sure you enjoy your stay.
Although I have been visiting Paleo for may years it was my daughters first visit, so a busy week was planned.
You can do as much or as little as you want, from lying on beaches, in one of the many coves to hiring a boat, which we did for two days, touring the Paleo coastline, which is stunning.
Enjoy..........
