When you pay 190 euros for a double room ("special" rate compared to the huge 340euros official rate!!), you would expect everything to be perfect. Therefore, I would not recommend this hotel, because I don't think that you get what you pay for.
Let's start with the plus points: the premises are fabulous, offering sizeable and very clean rooms and one of a kind sea view. To my oppinion the beds were super comfortable; I was very surprised to read a bad review on that. The balcony is lovely and of good size. The overflowing pool is spectacular and there are plenty of sunbeds around. The hotel beach is decent, the ionian sea is crystal clear and refreshing. Don't expect sand, there are concrete decks with umbrellas and sunbeds. Indeed it is not a kids friendly beach -which is a plus when you just want to relax without kids screaming around. You enjoy spectacular views from every spot in this hotel. The breakfast is a true 5*, in terms of quantities, variety and quality. I also enjoyed a very relaxing full body massage in the spa (ask for Nickie, she is great). And I have to say the hotel does not seem crowded, even when it is fully booked.
Negative comments: The check in is slow; it took about 10 mins to give us the room key, even though there were no other guests waiting. We had booked a double room with two separate beds. We noted that to the young lady at the reception, she smiled and said yes, but surprise-surprise, we were given a double bed. We called the reception, they reassured us they would send someone to move our luggage to another room (#329). A guy came, took the luggage but the reception called to stop him, as they had just figured that there was no room available. Therefore we were returned to the double bed room, with a promise for a new room the following day. The bathroom had both bath tub (shower and tap) and a separate shower area by the toilet. However, in the bath tub the shower did not work at all, while in the shower area, the shower head would spill water in every direction, turning it to a lagoon...
On the second day we were brought to the new room (#320). Even though it did have a sea view, it was next to a walking bridge, so anyone walking could see inside the room (no privacy unless you close the curtains; there goes the view). Again the bath tub shower head was not working, but at least, the separate shower area was OK; no lagoon to dry this time.
There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. And when you order room service, don't expect to eat at a table (you know, the standard room service rolling table). The waiter brings the tray, but there is no place to put it, except for the desk or the low coffee table in the balcony. Therefore, in any case, you have to hold your plate while you are eating. After we were through with dinner, we placed the tray outside the room. Next morning, the tray was still there, with ants crawling on it too. Uhhh...
There is free wi-fi in the rooms, but it is terribly slow.
The breakfast room (Koezumi restaurant) is huge, however the a/c unit is deafening.
There is free parking, however not big enough, therefore you end up with street parking.
All in all this, is an outrageous situation! Those people have a gem in their hands and they don't know what to do with it. This is a hotel everyone should love to return to and instead, guests just feel they get far less than what they pay for. What is the opposite of value for money?
