“A hotel that undersells its charms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

This is a very pretty, medium sized hotel with stunning views of the Corfu coastline and across to Albania. Unlike other hotels nearby, you were not aware of the coast road while sitting in the hotel - a definite plus.

Service was kind and charming - when we arrived, we'd missed breakfast, yet sweet Katerina bustled around in the kitchen making sure my children and myself had something to eat.

The food was consistently delicious - I felt as if we were staying with a local family and enjoying really good home cooking.

The rooms were clean and well looked after by efficient, smiling staff.

The pool was clean, warm and beautiful. Reception were extremely helpful, and the people behind the bar were friendly and delightful - in an impressive assortment of languages!

I did feel there was a lack of information available to English-speaking guests. It took me three days to discover the rock swimming area at the bottom of the cliff, for example. It also took three swelteringly hot nights before I realised air-conditioning was available at an additional cost of 6 euros a day.

There were also more hidden costs on this all-inclusive holiday than I've experienced before.

Wasps were an issue.

I was disappointed that there was no help available with luggage. I was travelling alone with two young kids and it was pretty hard making it up the steep path from the road to reception and then up two flights with no lift. I saw elderly guests struggling with cases in the daytime too.

But overall, we had a lovely week and I would recommend this place to anyone in need of relaxation in a glorious setting.

“there is better in the area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

We spend 5 days at the hotel which is placed in a perfect area between very nice beaches Ipsos, Kalami, Kerasia etc.
The hotel was OK but not the proper balance for the price we paid (seen better).
The room was clean but old furbished, the proper name for the toilette is a …….hole.
The pool was ok, there is also a beach in a wood & iron platform down the hill walking distance. The sea there is perfect, perfect for snorkeling or diving.
The food, better not mention…….
Wireless not working, well there is some signal at the hall but not enough to get a connection.

“Not the best place for your holidays”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 April 2011

The hotel standard is about 2-3 stars, not much, but the rooms are clean and cozy. The hotel is a quite place located on a mountain in a Mediterranean garden (it's not very green, but still it's a garden). There are no discos or anything like this at the hotel. We personally liked it. There was really very quiet. The only problem was a telephone in our room. Someone called us in the middle of the night. Twice. We waked up and were a bit anxious, because there was silence on the other side of the telephone. It was strange. There were no AC in our room, but usually it was not problematic.
The swimming pool is small and shallow, rather for children.
Personally I also didn't like the service. A typical Greek family - puffed-up and not helpful at all.
Food is quite ok, but there is not much to choose from. There are a lot of insects in the canteen - e.g. wasps. They sit on the food which hotel guests eat - yuck! and bite if you try to get rid of them.
There's no beach next to the hotel. You can walk down the hill (about 5 min) and get directly to the water, but it's deep and there is no place to put your towel or anything. To get to the public beach you have to walk along a narrow busy road (about 20 min) or take a hotel bus which goes there 3 times a day. The public beach is not sandy and you need special shoes to get to the water (lots of small sharp stones). On the beach you can borrow some water equipment or try paragliding, banana boat, etc.
There are some cheap public buses which stop next to the hotel and you can try other beaches in the area. Although if you are set on sight-seeing or tracking, Korfu is really not the best place. Me and my husband wanted to reach the top of the Pantokrator mountain, but unfortunately there is no special trail blazed and even the local people wasn't able to give us directions. We went back to the hotel angry and disappointed after hours of trying to find the trail.
If you decided to visit Corfu, I strongly recommend a water park. There is a lot of differentiated water slides both for adults and children and most of them is not extreme, but achievable for anyone. You can call the water park and they will send a free bus for you, straight to the hotel.
I don't really know to whom can I recommend this place - Nautilus and Corfu itself. We chose it, because people call it "green island" and my husband is crazy about nature.
Corfu is NOT green, there is not much nature, beaches are poor and there is nothing special to do there. If you like nature and look for something interesting I recommend Croatia.

Room Tip: nothing to do there, everything is far away

“Wunderful hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2010

Me and my wife stayed at this hotel for the 4th time in a row this year and are definitely planning to come back next year. As every year we find a very helpful and friendly staff which does it's utmost to make our stay as comportable as possible. And they sure succeed in doing so! It is a middle class family hotel with a marvellous view, a nice swimming pool a well functioning bar and restaurant. We were serviced immediately and with a smile every time. The Greek are proud people and when treated with respect very friendly. Unfortunately some guests don't understand the concept of respect and therefore are treated likewise. The shuttle bus is not luxurious - in fact rather old - but the driver takes everyone to and from the beautiful Barbati beach with its wunderful tavern safely. We would certainly recommend this hotel to everyone.

“makes blackpool look good!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2010

WORST HOTEL EVER BEEN TO. Service TERRIBLE, bar staff ignorant and not extremely forthcoming with serving drinks. On more than 1 occasion was left waiting for over 10 minutes, definatly wouldn't describe it as all inclusive if they wont serve u!!!!!!!!!!! Food was atrocious, never seen greek, even the RATS we saw wouldn't eat it. Had trip to corfu town and never been so relieved to see a mcdonalds! The beach is certainly more than a 10 minute walk than described and you take ur life into your hands if u decide to try the walk there but certainly safer than the death trap they call a shuttle bus! Rooms very cramped and beds like park benches. Prison, sorry, hotel ran out of basic life saving items such as bottled water with no idea when more would arrive. With no supermarket anywhere near this proved a big problem. No entertainment unless you consider violence toward hotel guests entertainment but with what sort of place this was wouldn't of expected anything less.
