Stunning views of the coastline and sea from this resort.

Basically the resort consists of townhouses overlooking the gorgeous pool/sea or low rise studios/appts overlooking the sea. We stayed in the sea view appt with spectacular views. There are lovely walks on the coastal path to Luz and Bergau. The resort itself is situated in a quiet area near Praia da Luz. It is quiet, there is no entertainment/restaurant/bar etc. However,both Luz, Lagos are not far away, though suggest that you will need a car. The appt itself was a 'rustic' design, it was roomy and was cleaned daily. Fresh bread delivered to the door daily.

We had a good appartment, somewhat dated furniture, but ok - 2 bedrooms - 2 bathrooms and terrace with view overlooking great pool and atlantic ocean. Location is perfect. Only problem is that some Portuguese families owe their own appartment and act as if they own the place. very noisy children screaming all day, having fun at the pool, which is normal. if it is a quiet hioliday you're after don't go there during school holidays. The cleanng of the flat took no more than 10 min every day. I made some complaints at the reception but I was told they could not do anything if I had complains abt. owners. Besides he confirmed that they are now going to start to build a massive hotel next to the pool area so the entire site will be turned into a building site for the following years- so don't go there as from 2009 for a few years.

We just returned from a two week stay at Porto Dona Maria resort and loved it. Our apartment overlooked the ocean. Bed was comfortable, and we loved having fresh bread delivered to our door each day! Besides the terrific view, we were able to walk to two towns, Luz and Bergau on ocean-side paths. The pool was lovely and at that time of year, virtually deserted. We particularily enjoyed the fish restaurant on the premises. Serafina in the reception area was very helpful and gave us good suggestions on places to visit. I would recommend this resort to anyone who desires a little more privacy. Sheila, Ontario CAN.

This is our second holiday to Luz Portugal and this time we decided to book at Porto Dona Maria. We were put in property 301 which is a lovely house with stunning views over the sea. \the house was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. It has 3 very spacious rooms with one being en-suite. It has a balcony table, chairs and sun loungers. The complex is very attractive with a fantastic swimming pool.
Luz itself is so beautiful with a really friendly atmosphere and a soper beach with many bars, restaurants and shops.
Everone speaks very good english so we had no problems with communication.
All in all we had a very relaxing holiday and a very enjoyable time at 301 Porto Dona Maria.
