In spite of its high Tripadvisor rating, this is an unremarkable hotel. It's based in one of those typical Greek straighforward concrete strucures a few blocks from the harbour and the sea side. The property is reasonably well decorated and well looked after, but unlike other reviewers I would not consider it something to write home about. The tv in our room was of the smallest possible size and but up almost against the ceiling of the room so that that only way to watch it is by laying flat on the bed. Introducing a flat screen tv would be a major improvement for this hotel. Another mishit of this hotel is that the shower has no door, so that the bathroom floor gets totally flooded each time you take a shower.
We had a room at the back of the hotel, where it was sufficiently quiet to leave the window open at night. Some of the rooms at the front of the hotel are bigger in size (and more expensive), but in spite of the low volume and speed of traffic you are likely to suffer from noise nuisance there. The hotel has its own parking lot right opposite the entrance, which is probably a major plus during the peak season. There is a garden at the back, with a swimming pool and seating area that serves as a sort of lounge club in the evenings. Breakfast was basic and not buffet-style. The (filter) coffee was very good though, probably the best I've ever had in Greece. I would probably stay here again during a future visit to Thassos, but not after I had done another round of comparing rates and facilities.
