“Nice & Peaceful....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2011

We arrived at the hotel around miday and was greeted with a pleasant welcome from Spiros and Miriam. We were shown up to our room by Alex and was pleased to find we had been given what we had asked for (high floor, double bed & pool view). The hotel was very nice, big airy rooms and a lovely pool/bar area. Breakfast is the same everyday, simple but edible with as much to eat as you want. The bar area is small on the inside but there is lots of seating outside in the shade. Nice for an early evening beer before dinner. All the staff were very helpful and we were always greeted with a smile and a little chat. The day bar staff (I think his name is Bobby) and the day/evening staff Taos & Alex were always readily available to serve/assist you. Many a nightcap shared with all before bedtime.

If you are looking for a nice peaceful holiday then Vassilikos is for you.

“Like playing in a reality show, having people watching your private moments”

Although we had confirmed and sent down payment one month before our stay, arriving there the lady on the front desk informed us that we had no reservation. After an argument she had with her son (owner) and checking again through their papers, we were finally given the key of our room.
The room was descent and everything looked rather ok. Until we decided to open the balcony door and seat in the balcony.
As we opened the shutters we were astonished to see right in front of us, in a distance of less than 5 meters, the back side of a TV set and the people they were watching it, holding their drinks staring at us.
The bar of the hotel was situated just 2 meters away from our balcony fences.
We asked the same day to be given another room. They said there wasn't any room available at the moment (which I doubt).
The food (inclusive) was less then average, eatable if you are starving, but it would be a pity to be on Zakyntos and not trying their wonderful local specialties in another restaurant.
There was also a small parking for 4 or 5 cars, first in, got the place.

After a long time ( is about 2 years ) I come back to this forum to answer this review.
This 2 years I have to inform all of you that the hotel was open and every year passed more that 1000 persons..
So the best way to understand this review is to ask the writer HOW done the reservation??? …because I am the owner and the person that try to accommodate and (fight as they said ) ,….the Greek couple when they arrived 23.00 to the hotel and said that they have done reservation to Arion they were done reservation alone with anonymous deposit and without any contact to the hotel for the hotel voucher…
and now with this category the customer wants to discredit the hotel of his own recklessness
thanks

“Perfect place for a quiet holiday”

On our arrival we recived a nice welcome by Marina, who also told us good tips what to visit on the island. She was very nice and helpful during the week and the same can be said about the whole staff of the hotel.

Marina also booked a table for us at Brother Costas taverna where we spent our first evening with local zakynthnian musicians! It was not a mass-organized Greek night, but pleasant evening with locals.

The breakfast was really the same everyday - but tell me, do You really have something else every day at home? I guess, not! So, I can say, it was fine and enough, the breakfast room was also pleasant.

One of the nicest beaches of Banana and Ionian is in 5 minute distance, but if You want to have buzy night life, You have to sit in a car and get to Argassi, the closest.

We paid less than we received by staying at this hotel, I warmly recommend it!

“lovely little hotel for the price you paid!”

We have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel and want to go back straight away! The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and the pool area is nice. We stayed on a half board basis and never ate out once. There were always two choice of home-made well cooked (and very tasty)food and as much as you liked! Although there wasn't much choice, for the price we paid for a 2* hotel we were extremely impressed.
We were a 2 minute walk from the best beach in the area and there were plenty of snacks bars and restaurants within walking distance as well as shops! We also went on a boat trip with Mario's glass bottom boat to see the turtles, he was fab and we highly recommend him and he even picked us up and dropped us back off!
The hotel does not have any entertainment in the evening so not for party animals but for a very relaxing holiday then this is the place for you!!
