“7 days of heaven”

My partner & I were looking for a relaxing holiday with sun, traditional greek food, quiet, untouched & beautiful surroundings.... we found all of these requirements & more during our week in Braunis Horio, Assos through Exclusive Escapes (who were superb in every way).
We stayed in the villa Agapi (translated means 'love') which is the top villa & the quality of the apartment blew our minds. We could have accommodated another 2 people easily. There is full maid service which is unintrusive & we even had a fresh bread delivery every other day. The equipment for our use was spot on ie cool bag, beach umbrella, washing machine, air con etc...
The town of Assos was simple & friendly. We explored the island in a jeep, the roads are well maintained. Be warned however that walking requires some strong leg muscles....
The boat hire for a day from Fiscardo is a must, we arrived early to pick up the boat & found ourselves a private beach on the Island of Ithaca where we snorkled & relaxed in paradise.
The Myrtos beach visit is also a must.... so beautiful.
My advice is to start the day early, we arrived at 9am for all our visits to beach, caves, boat etc & benefitted from the privacy. Back to the villa for a siesta then evening meal in either Assos or Fiscardo.
It was what I imagine a honeymoon to be made of.....

“A view you can never get bored of!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2010 via mobile

The location & views make this. Watching boats come & go as well as the changing sea was so relaxing. We went with Exclusive Escapes who were great. Villa spotless, pool great. We stayed in Thea which is a 2 bed in middle. You are over looked a little from above & rely on your neighbours respecting this. Asos is beautiful - right balance for us of bustle & traditional taverna choice. The place to kick back & enjoy the view with a glass of wine.

“Disappointing”

Whilst these villas looked good in the brochure / online, we felt slightly mislead by the pool, which was very small and whose view was blocked by the villas below. The accomodation itself was fine, much as you'd except, but for the money this was poor value. Assos however is lovely and we would recommend it to anyone.

“A little bit of Paradise!”

We have just returned from an idyllic holiday at Braunis Horio. We love Assos and went last year too, but to different accommodation. We booked this year with Greek Options. In the brochure Braunis Horio is called the Assos Villas. We stayed in Maistrali, a 3 bedroomed villa, with superb
views. This really was home from home...magazine type interior, washing machine, very powerful shower and tv/dvd....not that we used that....it was far more interesting watching the boats below.

Our villa had one of the best views on the complex, being right by the water's edge, although I can imagine that our villa could well obstruct views from villa's situated higher up. In my opinion, Greek Options have definitely secured the best three villas....Palatsina, Maistraili and Agrokali. The views from these villas are breathtaking. The only slight downside is that these villas are a little overlooked by the balconies of the adjacent villas...but not to an intrusive degree.

Assos versus Fiskardo? To me Assos wins hands down - with an idyllic air, but with just enough bustle and 5 tavernas. To me, Fiskardo in August was almost hell on earth. Very charming in itself, but spoilt by the hoards of yachties and day trippers who walk cheek by jowl around the narrow harbour's edge. I am sure that Fiskardo could have a very different feel slightly out of season.

We took our children aged 12 and 4 and whilst Assos is not a typical bucket and spade resort....the sea is crystal clear, the beach (pebbly) is very clean and the snorkelling tremendous. Our 12 year old had a fab time...he found an Octopus and had much fun jumping from some cliffs into the sea. We
also hired a car and explored the whole island, although we came to the conclusion that we were staying in the best place!

All in all, a fantastic holiday. I think it will be very difficult to top
this next year.

“Anyone who doesn't love this place is nuts!”

My husband and I had the enjoyable privilege of staying in one of these incredible villas for 3 nights and 4 days at the end of August. The private pool and overall secluded nature of the villa was absolute heaven and definitely something you find in those glamorous magazines. The villa was clean, well kept, spacious and serene. This place is ideal for couples who are looking to truly spend time together away from the crowd. The views are glorious and the little town of Assos is very charming. Not the greatest place to find a beach however within a 15 minute drive you can find yourself on the white powdery sands of Melisani beach. There is a heavy Italian influence on the island and really you can drive the whole island in a day. Parting words of wisdom for anyone considering these villas: 1) manage your expectations, this is not your typical hotel with round the clock service so be sure you can be self sufficient 2) Have a rental car and map and don't be afraid to use them liberally 3) Seclusion and privacy is the overall nature of the villa so make sure that's what you're looking for.
