Recently returned from a two week stay at The Sunrise Hotel in Tsilivi, this place is a very relaxing, quiet and friendly hotel. The rooms are basic but clean and cleaned every day but for the price you could not ask for more. Yes the bathrooms are typically Greek where the floor gets wet when you use the shower and there is no rail for the shower head. but if you want 5 star then book a 5 star hotel or as we done put the mat on the floor to catch the water and buy a stick on shower head holder off e bay. simples. We paid 42 euros per week for the air con but the fridge and safety deposit box were free. (not sure if this was a mistake on their part though and I wasnt going to ask).
The staff are very friendly from the cleaners to the owners and all are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them.
The pool is very nice with plenty of sunbeds with matresses for the size of the hotel and we never had trouble getting one no matter what time we came to the pool.
Local bars and restaurants are a short walk away, (approx 10 mins) and the beach is not much further. The Two Brothers Bar is a lot of fun where the waiters and owners are lets say very energetic, a good night out.
Would definately recommend this hotel and when we come back to Zante this hotel will be at the top of our list.

Just returned home from the most relaxing holiday ever.The hotel is situated just 10 mins walk from a variety of bars and resturants and also Tsilivi beach. I would recommend hiring a car though to sample 'Banana Beach' which is about 25 mins drive but absolutely beautiful! The owners and their family are very freindly and make you feel very welcome. Stelios the barman is such a good worker and was lots of fun. He kept us entertained the whole two weeks! The hotel room, breakfast hall and pool area were so clean and this was down to the 'handy man' and cleaners who do not stop working. So many people we got to know during our 2 weeks had already sayed at 'The Sunrise' time and time again! There is no question that we will be returning again sometime next year!

The Sunrise Hotel has a great swimming pool and a nice family feel. The pool bar serves food throughout the day and the staff lay on entertainment once a week, a greek night with BBQ. Out room was adequate, the balcony view faced bushes and trees so not the best room in the place. The room was clean and we had maids come to clean almost every day replacing towels and linen.

The shower was in need of repair, we had to hold the shower head to shower, which after 7 nights becomes a real pain, it wouldnt cost that much to fix the shower to the wall.
Overall the Sunrise was a good price and it was clean, so it was fine for us. I wouldn't stay here again, as it is too far out of the resort, its a good 15min walk to the beach and 10min walk to the centre.. in 34 degree heat thats pretty far. I would look to stay nearer the beach and centre, I saw Hotel Mediterranie, which is very central and my sister has stayed here and recommends it, also Hotel Consentina - which looked very lovely.

If you prefer the pool to the beach, then stay here its fine for a budget place. If you want to be nearer the beach then opt for something else.

Also - be aware that you are charged for:
a) using the fridge - 12 Euros a week
b) Air Con - 6 Euros a day
c) Safety deposit boxes - 12 Euros a week.

So out £175 for the week soon become 200 - and we might have opted to stay elsewhere...if we had realised all the add on costs.

We stayed at the hotel at April...The service was very good and the stuff was very friendly and answered all of our questions about the island(best places etc.) there is a large swimming pool ,which is pleasure to see from your balcony, at the center of the hotel, and the rooms are clean.The only problem we had was some inconveniences in the bathroom but I guess these must have been fixed...There is also good breakfast in the morning. Generally a very good option to stay,and not far from the center of the island...
