“The perfect place to relax and enjoy life!”

I have just returned, with my husband, from our 2nd visit in 4 years and once again were very reluctant to go home! We don't have a bad word to say about this beautifully situated, well appointed, clean and friendly site. We would quite happily camp here every year if we didn't enjoy a change of scenery now and again! The owners, Sarah and John, run an excellent site providing a great balance of tranquility and fun. In addition each time we have visited we have enjoyed getting to know the bar, restaurant and reception staff. Sarah and John seem to have a knack of employing the kind of staff who really enhance the holiday. We highly recommend this site to anyone and don't think we'll be leaving it another three years before returning! ("Jo" and Sam xx)

“Can't work out how this place got in the cool camping guide - it's average at best.”

We've just returned from a two week camping holiday and used Camping Le Moulin Fort as an overnight stop for our outward and return trips. We will not be returning. Although it's in a fairly nice location, the campsite was too crowded for our taste and it didn't feel particularly welcoming. There was Sky TV in the bar and I suppose the place would be perfect for anyone seeking a few days of lager and fishing. We were after something slightly more....French. We also left the campsite feeling as though we'd been ripped-off because we ended up paying for a BBQ twice. This was because of poor administration on their part rather than anything more deliberate, but it would have been nice if we'd been given the benefit of the doubt when we raised the matter with them at the time.

This is an extremely friendly site with beautiful lakeside pitches. This site is perfectly placed whether you want to do trips around the many wine houses or castles or whether you want to relax and enjoy the iece and quiet.

“A beautiful site, highly recommended”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2011

Well, we ended our holiday in what can only be described as the best, and possibly the most relaxing location. Picture a summers evening, you have your wine, olives, bread (oil and vinegar of course!), you're outside your tent, the sun is setting over the beautiful bridge nearby, then a number of hot air balloons gently drift nearby...... utter bliss! Now I know that people have mentioned thefts, but this wasn't an issue (quite frankly, you only have to be in a tent anywhere at anytime to be a target, so probably best to have an overall awareness wherever you go in the world!). The people who owned it were always on hand to help with anything you needed, spoke a number of languages, were extremely friendly, and even let us put Wimbledon on the TV (unfortunately Murray lost!) I would, and have already, recommended this site to friends and relatives, and would not be put off going back again (perhaps a 'safe' for a small charge in the main house would help with the valuables aspect?)

“Great Site+ Great people”

We have stayed at this site for the last 5 years some times staying for just time to book the local vets for the return trip to UK otherwise we have stayed for three or 4 weeks both in June and also September. The site is always immaculate, the toilet blocks are kept clean The staff are always extremely friendly, very helpful and will give advice to those in trouble .During a family bereavement we found both Sarah and John helpful in the extreme with advice and they allowed us to leave our caravan on site while we travelled back to the Northern UK for the funeral.
Despite advice to people in tents not to isolate themselves at the farthest part of the site some people insisted on going as far as possible from other campers. The security guard tried to advise people but was ignored . The Police were called and patrolled the area for three nights and suspicious incidents were reported and taken seriously and investigated... the site is great for exploring numerous chateau 's and local towns. Good on site Cafe with adequate meals ,great atmosphere and the barbecues are really great.
We will return again and again as the site is within an easy one day tow from the Channel tunnel the facilities are top knotch and the people are great including the campers themselves
