“Speechless”

Stayed here for two nights during our honeymoon in June. Our biggest regrets was not staying longer. This place is absolutely amazing. The food is amazing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Self service on the bar which is great and the prices are cheap. James is an attentive and a great host. Staying at this place is a total relaxation. Can't recommend this place highly enough. When you go to Mallorca this is a must.

“How it should be...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

I can't recommend Es Castell enough to friends and family members. I'm a lover of small, independent hotels/inns with great food and this was...well...like a dream. Great service, lovely rooms, unbelievable attention to detail, wonderful dinners (thanks Lee!), amazing orchards to get lost in. A truly special place.

“Do yourself a favour and go!”

This lovely old finca is full of charm and has many quiet corners in which to get away from it all. The owner James and his staff cannot do enough for you, but will discretely leave you alone to read or contemplate the lovely views. The food is superb and could easily give fancier restaurants a run for their money, and it is this and the peace and quiet that you will remember long after you return home. We are returning with 'foodie' friends for a short break in October and have no doubt they will love it just as much as we do. Everything is very relaxed and you have the run of the place; it sometimes seems that it is your own private finca, but with better service. Do yourself a favour and go!

“Excellent - just as good as all the other reviews say it is !”

Everything written in all the other very positive reviews turns out to be true and it would be hard to add much to that here : wonderful location, superbly run and pretty much faultless in every respect. Our specific stay was marred slightly by some noisy young children and so it wasn't quite as peaceful as others have found it. Of course this is not the fault of the hotel or its owners but perhaps it is not the best choice of destination for those with small children as I suspect parents' nerves would quickly become frayed trying to maintain that wonderfully tranquil atmosphere the hotel normally has.

Room Tip: Only a limited number of rooms enjoy the wonderful view so might be worth checking when you book if...

“Another great holiday at Es Castell”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

The first time we went to Es Castell, on the recommendation of a friend, I remember thinking 'this is heaven'. Five visits later, it is still heaven.

The setting is beautiful and my heart misses a beat when we bump over the cattle grid on to the estate as I know what lies ahead. The memory of waking up to birdsong and sheep bells and the view from the breakfast terrace gets me through the winter months.

James and Paola (and all the team - welcome back Lee) are so welcoming and there when you need them for advice. The little touches such as flowers, wine and water in the room, the ice creams and coffee on tap all make for a special holiday.

The food is fabulous and dinner on the top terrace as the day fades away is not to be missed.

As many other correspondents note, Es Castell is a secret you want to keep to yourself.
