“Great location, great food and great staff!”

Before I arrived at the hotel I had read the reviews and thought they were all poor. Well, I went anyway as my fella was on business there and needed a base to stay. I would say I am well travelled as I am lucky enough to get the opportunity to travel to some lovely places. Stayed here from 24th - 28th October and on arrival which was in the early hours the Reception was warm and friendly. Our room was 415 which had a sea view and was lovely. No problems there. The Restaurant was clean and tidy, with plenty of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you are looking for a full English breakfast then this hotel is not for you. If you are happy with ham, cheese, eggs, pastries and other types of continental foods then you will be fine. The staff can't do enough for you in the Restaurant. I like my English tea in the morning and they went out of their way to get me some. The Restaurant does get busy in the evenings as the hotel was full the week we were there but they work quickly to get you seated and I really do not see what these other poor reviews are about. My experience at the hotel was a truely positive one. One point to raise in the evenings in the Restaurant if you are looking for chips then again don't come to this hotel as they don't serve chips. What they do serve is pasta of your choice that they make in front of you, chicken, different meats, veggies, fish, salad, fresh fruit and the choice of the sweets is amazing. I'd like to thank Kaan in the Restaurant for being so friendly and helpful during our stay.

In the day I sat round the pool as the weather was lovely. It's 25 degress in the day and sun goes down at 4pm - 5pm ish and temperature drops to about 18 - 19 in the evening. I took some cardigans but didn't need them. I was happy sat round the pool on my own in the day and felt safe there on my own. Plenty of towels, plenty of sunbeds, parasols. I did try the pool but it was very cold so gave it a miss. At the pool bar there was a lovely man that kept my drinks topped up all day (don't have his name sorry). At the pool bar you can get most drinks, you don't have to walk far at all.

Spa - I had a Turkish Bath one day and a massage the next and again all positive.

The Sherwood Bar area is clean and tidy, with again great staff. I'd like to give a special mention to Lale in the Bar area. She's friendly, helpful and kept my drinks flowing. Most evenings there was entertainment in the bar which was a duo of two guys who played a saxaphone and a guitar. Lovely to listen to.

In the Sherwood Bar they have pastries, cakes, snacks, salad, breads and olives from about 3pm - 5pm ish. These were lovely, if you go try them as you are spoilt for choice.

Overall I had a great time. The grounds are kept well, there's a private beach. Please visit this hotel for yourself and I hope you have the lovely experience me and my fella had.

“Pleasantly surprised - Past reviews dont do it justice !!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

Stayed here for 5 nights with my fiancee on business and to be honest was pleasantly surprised after reading the reviews on this hotel.
I believe (but not sure) that the hotel has undergone a management/owner change recently and the old has been replaced with new staff and standards.
The hotel is very clean throughoutand the rooms, although basic, are very clean with plasma tv's, oversize beds and are very clean. They are cleaned thoroughly each day and are blessed with air con. The mini bar is only stocked when you arrive but the hotel is all inclusive so getting water and drinks is no problem. The room could benefit from tea and coffee making facilities but its a minor point to be honest ! The views from the room were stunning - tip is to book a sea view room !
We found the staff to be very helpful right from the start. The reception was eager to please and knew of our booking immediately. The porter was only too pleased to take our bags to the room and didnt hold his hand out when he did. Best of all they all smile.!!!
The bar staff were excellent at being very efficient with drinks and once the knew you then they simply saw the empty glass and hey presto a drink arrived. This was the Sherwood bar and there is entertainment nightly 8.30pm till 10.30pm - Special mention to Lane who waied on us hand and foot and the bar staff who were super speedy !
In the food department I really cant see what people complain about !
This is all inclusive and there is something for everyone. Fresh salad, cheese, olives together with fruit, omelettes (fresh) breadsand cooked foods such as eggs, sausages and much much more. NOTE: If you want an english breakfast then you are going to disappointed theis is very much mediterranean cuisine - but very good mediterranean cuisine !
As for Dinner very much the same - spoilt for choice with fresh salads, cooked dishes and fresh spit roasted chickens - help yourself and go back as often as you like !!! Again Burger and chips is not on the menu - But there is something for everyone with Fish, Beef and chicken dishes every night !
Kaan in the restaurant is excellent - make a point os saying hello as he is very friendly and will always assist together with Ali and all the staff who will help if you ask ! You will even see the exec chefs overseeing the restaurant and Mercit(one of the exec chefs) has very high standards !
The pool area is spotless as are the grounds!
Overall we found the staff to be excellent. They were friendly, helpful and really couldnt do enough for you ! A quick tip is try to learn a few words of Turkish as it goes a long way and is appreciated - Its quite fun when it goes wrong too but they really appreciate you trying !
On my experience I would be happy to recommend to friends and will stay here again next time I return !

Room Tip: Go for the sea view

“4 Star Hotel with 2 star food and service”

First impression of hotel good rooms and pool area very clean, staff ignorant and will only do the least they can get away with.
Reception!! rang with problem said don't speak English and put the phone down on me, booked early morning call when returning home nether received it when asked why just said systems not working (which I took to mean they couldn't be bothered ringing)
But by far the worst part of the hotel was the dinning room both for food and service when you went in you could get anyone to clean up the table when they did they didn't bring you any cutlery or napkins when after on average 3 attempts you got a knife and fork and napkin you ordered your drink but more often than not it didn't arrive and you had to go and get your own while the dinning room staff and management just stood around talking to each other.
On an an evening although there was supposed to be entertainment it very rarely materialised and when it did it was about 200/300 metres away through the garden which was very dark and there was no bar so you had to risk falling with glasses in you hand if you wanted to go

“Sexually assaulted by security guard.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

Avoid at all costs. My partner was jumped on by a security guard whilst sat on a sunbed. He chose his moment perfectly and only because she fought tooth and nail and screamed as loud as she could did he get off of her. Unluckily for him she identified him to the hotel management who would not call the police and when i insisted on the receptionist to call them he said the police couldnt speak english but would happily talk to me on the phone. The security guard was from the casino so after we made a scene there they enventually called the police. Upon arrival they treated my partner like dirt and said there was nothing they could do as it was her word against his.

The casino apparently had suspended the security guard with a view to sacking him as they told us that they knew that he'd done it as he should not of been where he was when he attacked her and lied of his whereabouts etc. Direct Traveller our tour company did not assist at all apart from giving us a form to fill in (with a smile though) and had the casino manager tell us they may sack the guard. The hotel said they'd inform us of the outcome and Direct traveller would investigate but we have heard nothing back and emails are ignored. My partner suffered bruising and a cracked rib in this attack but they still insisted we vacate our room by 1500 hrs before our 2300 departure.

Anyhow before the "incident" we were totally unhappy with this hotel. There is no way on earth this is a 5 star hotel I would say 3 star. It was meant to be a ultra all inclusive but it was less than all inclusive like our last holiday at The Merit just across the bay. If you drink all the drinks in the mini bar (like we did in 40 deg heat over three days) they will not replace them! but they will but they charge you for them?! The staff our miserable and the food is average and how many 5 star hotels push a trolley full of plates around collecting from tables even if only one of you has finished like a primary school dining hall?

The room was cleaned everyday but the bed was rock hard and caused many a bad night. The hotel is very nice to look at but it ends there really. The real plus was the spa which gave excellent massages.

The pool area is dangerous with loose decking around with the lifeguard more interested in swimming with the young girls in the sea several times. ( oh and he is a security guard too at night who constantly mucked around )

On a whole dont waste your money or risk the dangers.

“Avarage”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2011

Hotel was too expensive for the service they provided. Lots of extras we had to pay and swimming pool was too crowded all the time. Hotel's beach is not great so pool seemed the best option.
