Before I arrived at the hotel I had read the reviews and thought they were all poor. Well, I went anyway as my fella was on business there and needed a base to stay. I would say I am well travelled as I am lucky enough to get the opportunity to travel to some lovely places. Stayed here from 24th - 28th October and on arrival which was in the early hours the Reception was warm and friendly. Our room was 415 which had a sea view and was lovely. No problems there. The Restaurant was clean and tidy, with plenty of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you are looking for a full English breakfast then this hotel is not for you. If you are happy with ham, cheese, eggs, pastries and other types of continental foods then you will be fine. The staff can't do enough for you in the Restaurant. I like my English tea in the morning and they went out of their way to get me some. The Restaurant does get busy in the evenings as the hotel was full the week we were there but they work quickly to get you seated and I really do not see what these other poor reviews are about. My experience at the hotel was a truely positive one. One point to raise in the evenings in the Restaurant if you are looking for chips then again don't come to this hotel as they don't serve chips. What they do serve is pasta of your choice that they make in front of you, chicken, different meats, veggies, fish, salad, fresh fruit and the choice of the sweets is amazing. I'd like to thank Kaan in the Restaurant for being so friendly and helpful during our stay.
In the day I sat round the pool as the weather was lovely. It's 25 degress in the day and sun goes down at 4pm - 5pm ish and temperature drops to about 18 - 19 in the evening. I took some cardigans but didn't need them. I was happy sat round the pool on my own in the day and felt safe there on my own. Plenty of towels, plenty of sunbeds, parasols. I did try the pool but it was very cold so gave it a miss. At the pool bar there was a lovely man that kept my drinks topped up all day (don't have his name sorry). At the pool bar you can get most drinks, you don't have to walk far at all.
Spa - I had a Turkish Bath one day and a massage the next and again all positive.
The Sherwood Bar area is clean and tidy, with again great staff. I'd like to give a special mention to Lale in the Bar area. She's friendly, helpful and kept my drinks flowing. Most evenings there was entertainment in the bar which was a duo of two guys who played a saxaphone and a guitar. Lovely to listen to.
In the Sherwood Bar they have pastries, cakes, snacks, salad, breads and olives from about 3pm - 5pm ish. These were lovely, if you go try them as you are spoilt for choice.
Overall I had a great time. The grounds are kept well, there's a private beach. Please visit this hotel for yourself and I hope you have the lovely experience me and my fella had.
