We spent another wonderful week at Playa Blanca over this past Christmas break (Dec.30-Jan.6). The staff are so friendly and accommodating, and to our delight we learned that return guests are treated to a wonderful mulit-course feast of lobster, fish, and steak. The food was super - plenty of choices at all mealtimes - both buffet and a la carte, and service was always quick for drinks. The room was clean and comfortable, and our bathroom had plenty of hot water with good water pressure. The tides and wind dictate the condition of the beach, as we've learned. So, although the beach was not wide/deep enough to accommodate chairs and umbellas directly below the resort, it's a short walk to end of the resort property to a lovely beach. Pure white sand and turquoise water, plenty of lounge chairs. Stunning! The beach staff were amazing for reserving chairs for us each morning. There was a little beach bar with a good selection of drinks. It was windy, but the waves were lots of fun to play in. One suggestion would be to bring mosquito repellent. The mosquitoes tend to come out at dusk. They are small and fiesty, so a good spray before venturing out in the evening should do the trick. We've recommended this hotel to several friends who have also had wonderful stays and intend to return next winter. We plan to return to Playa Blanca again next year!

This is our 2nd trip to the Grand Caribe Playa Blanca. Once again it was all we expected it to be. The room was always clean. The food wonderful with plenty of choices. The staff are some of the best we have come across in 18 years of traveling Cuba. Weather was as expected sunny and hot. Our trip this year was for complete relaxation and that's what we got. Thanks to all the bartenders for keeping our Bubba's full and for the great friendships we developed. The staff at the front desk are alway friendly and helpful..Thanks Carlos!! We can't wait until our next trip. Always remember you only get happiness out of a holiday if you are willing to inject some into it. Thanks Playa Blanca

I can't wait to go back. Loved my room maid Dayami!!! also loved my favorite ballerina Dayneris. Enjoyed every night enetertainment.... Don't want to forget " SANTA FE "

We just returned from 2 weeks at Playa Blanca - our 6th visit to Cayo Largo. As usual we were warmly received by staff at the hotel, who have become our friends over the years. The weather was wonderful - hot and sunny; windy most days. We slept with our balcony door open every night listening to the pounding of the waves on the beach. The beach itself was mostly non-existent during this stay, but we were able to walk along the beach most days anyway. We enjoy spending time poolside - our chance to catch up on alot of reading!
Our room was clean and comfortable; the bathrooms could use a little sprucing up but they are clean and perfectly functional. We found the food to be excellent in all the restaurants (improving every year); the grilled fish was to die for! The lattees and cappucinos were a daily "must have" and we found that the Ranchon restaurant excelled in making these specialty coffees. Overall the staff are exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to please. It is not uncommon for them to quickly recognize and learn of your preferences in terms of food or drinks. The musicians were outstanding and the entertainers and dancers were stunning. We were with friends that we met on a previous trip to Cayo Largo having spent vacations with them ever since. We highly recommend this hotel and plan to return for at least 2 weeks again next winter.
