We booked direct with Mr Jucquois at the hotel ( [--] )
This is a great overnight stop location just south of Poitiers and much better than the 3-4* hotels on the outskirts of Poitiers. Rooms are good for families although the duplex style might be a little dangerous for small kids as the double bed is upstairs and the singles downstairs. Location is just fantastic with the old ruins directly behind the hotel, pool area and garden set nicely behind the building and panoramic views over the countryside which in July / August would be full of sunflowers ( September they are drying up a bit ) and food was very good for breakfast but the restaurant was closed on the Friday night when we stayed so best to check its open if you intend on eating in as the closest restaurant is about 16km away ( pizza ).There is also a Michelin star restaurant is about 25km in an old chateau but not so suitable for small kids.
Highly recommend this hotel as a stop if you are travelling further south the next day as its 4 hours from Caen and about 4 hours to Bergerac.
Great service and very nice people. Highly recommend.
