Stayed at this very unique property for two nights in May. It is a very historic property and it provides very scenic and original accommodations for guests.
Things to know:
1) A car is very necessary. We only had bikes, and had to deal with a 25min bike ride into Beaune and even longer to surrounding vineyards. Taxis are expensive and not practical here. A car would have been very helpful.
2) There is no internet available. Depending on who you you ask this could be a good thing. Just something to be aware of.

“Drive an hour out of our way and it was disappointing”

Felt very unwelcome and obviously it was a pain for them to hear English spoken. Gave us a room in another building without any helpful information regarding wifi or help with luggage. Lucky some employees were coming out of building and upon hearing my English, she rolled her eyes, but did show me to the room. My husband was bringing in all the luggage and another employee was standing right by the door and watching him struggle with 2 suitcases and the door. She could have held the door, but offered no assistance. Definite air of Americans being a pain. Nothing in the room was translated in any other language including directions for cooling system and hotel information. Safe was small and light and no security at all. Room was basic and flies from nearby horses were annoying. Decorated very strangely. Not worth the hour extra.
