We have stayed twice with Martin, Kathy and Ruby, this year . Having charged, madly through France on our way South for the past 20 years. This year we have suddenly found a reason to do so more sedately. Martin and Kathy are the PERFECT hosts. Added to that the joy of knowing, as you set off from the ferry, there will be a warm welcome awaiting you; a fantastic meal , good wine and great company just makes the drive that much more enjoyable. We will stay here every time we can from now on. One of those little secrets you shouldn't share with others, but it would be a real shame to keep it to ourselves and the rest of you miss out on probably the best all round B&B we have ever stayed at. Thank you Kathy and Martin for being so good at what you do and making our stays so enjoyable and relaxing.

Le Canard isn't just a place to spend a night on the way to/from your destination- it's one of the highlights of the whole holiday! We have spent a night or two with Kathy and Martin for the past five summers and every time we are made to feel so welcome. From the moment we arrive we are treated like old friends - a relaxing drink in the garden, a dip in the pool or a wander round the grounds is just perfect after a day squashed in the car. This is always followed by a delicious meal, great company and a wonderful sleep in one of their lovely rooms. We can't fault the hospitality and warmth we have always received at Le Canard and would recommend it to everyone, as would our two boys who think the world of Martin and Kathy, and our dog Chara who lives for her annual runaround with Ruby!

Fantastic B and B if you are planning a trip through France and like us need a half way stop over. Kathy & Martin share their wonderful home and offer a great place to stay. Warmly treated to a special hello from their dog Ruby on arrival. Great rooms, with really comfortable beds, beautifully decorated. Do take the chance to stay for dinner. Kathy offers a wonderful menu which she cooks herself. My husband is a vegetarian and loved the dishes specially prepared for him. Martin ensures that your glass is never empty with a great choice of wine and he has grown many of the veggies served up on your plate!

Now a firm favourite of ours and would certainly highly recommend Le Canard.

We stayed here after a days driving from Dover and what a treat it was. We were exhausted but our host, Martin and Kathy were incredibly welcoming and we immediately relaxed with a large pot of tea. This B & B is a gem. We were fed a fantastic four course evening dinner along with other guests and the wine and conversation both flowed freely. Both Martin and Kathy do an amazing job. This overnight stopover really made difference and got our holiday off to a brilliant start. We are so grateful to them.
