Once again, the Hatta Fort Hotel surpassed my expectations. This is a marvellous affordable escape from either Dubai or Abu Dhabi. With pristine lawns, low / no humidity and a warmer winter climate than the UAE coast, this mountain enclave offers relaxation and a change of scenery for residents and an authentic old-world atmosphere for overseas visitors. Good food, great activities and, yes, a heated pool(!) make it one of my favourite destinations in the UAE.

Yes, we have been spoiled by the various hotels in Dubai so we have high expectations but this hotel just feels a bit expensive for what it offers. (around AED2000 per night for two rooms including food)
We stayed here for a night during Eid (high-season!) on the way towards Oman and booked two rooms as we have 3 small children. The children's facilities are nice (they have a separate children's pool and adult only pool and an outside play area with mini-golf) and the staff is very friendly.
The buffet dinner and breakfast is good but I had maybe expected a bit more in this price range.... Maybe we should have only booked one room as the rooms are very large??
Good location to get up early and beat the Dubai crowds to the border crossing in the busy season. (hence it only took us 30 minutes for all the admin)

The hotel has the sense of having been around for many years and this is proven in the certificates on it's walls of maybe a decade back or so.

But the place is so perfect it does not feel like it! Absolutely well taken care of and an amazing crowd. We visited during the last week of Year 2011 as a family getaway and it was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were perfect although a little cold. It was December anyway and they do not have central heating (why should they, it is the desert!) But the cold just would not go away, made things more cozy anyway! Lot os other activities to do like rock climbing apart from seeing the cultural village of Hatta itself. Amazing dinner buffet options and great breakfast too. Never used the pool, too cold for that.

A must stop when visiting the Eastern cost of the UAE and surely the right hotel to stay.

Beautiful clean, luxuriously & tastefully decorated rooms - very romantic with great views. All you need for a effect time. Good restaurants, usually a great buffet but it wasn't available this year for us. The sun loungers are very comfortable, the pool good size & deep. There are two pools which is great as the kiddies stay in their pool :)
Sunsets are fabulous, walk over to the kiddies pool to take some wonderful pictures at sundown.
Nice places too to pay a quick visit around Hatta Fort, the museum & heritage village. Lovely drives out & about camel spotting. :)
