“Swiss Hotel Moraira - Teulada Moraira's Jewel in the Crown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2010

Swiss Hotel Moraira is a very nice, stylish hotel on the outskirts of Teulada Moraira on the Costa Blanca. The hotel has been designed and decorated in a very stylish manner. With classic designs and rustic features the public areas of the hotel provide comfortable and elegant surroundings.

I stayed there in June 2010 on the recommendation of a couple of friends who had stayed there several times before.

Arriving at the hotel after a short drive through Teulada Moraira, the approach to the hotel gives little away. it is not until you get out of the car and view the gardens that you realise what a treat this place is. The gardens are well-maintained and very colourful and the site of a smartly-dressed waiter, ready to take your order for a tall, cool drink and you check-in, is very much appreciated.

The rooms are all very spacious and well-appointed. Each comes equipped with a large flat-screen TV, free wi-fi and a digital safe. Many have private terraces with hot-tubs, where relaxing afternoons can be enjoyed with great views across the stunning, colourful, surrounding countryside.

The menu at Swiss Hotel Moraira caters for all tastes with the locally caught fresh fish being a speciality. A wide range of wines are available - ask your knowledgeable waiter for a recommendation.

Swiss Hotel Moraira is just outside of the town so a car is recommended to explore the stunning local towns of Moraira, Calpe and Javea.

The real 'gems' at the hotel are the staff; nothing is too much trouble. I have stayed at the hotel a few times before and always look forward to my arrival as much as I regret my departure.

If you are planning a trip to Teulada Moraira and are looking for a hotel, you would be hard-pressed to find a better Teulada Moraira Hotel.

Enjoy!

“Complete relaxation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2010

As some other reviewers have said, you WILL need a car. That said for a 7 day rental from Alicante airport the cost was less than £100 which will easily be less than transfers / cabs etc. Another tip is to have a sat nav, the hotel is located in a very quiet resendential part and unless you know where it is, it's not the easiest to find.

Anyway, the hotel itself is as good as their website suggests, very nicely decorated, attentive friendly staff and very good clean facilities.

Our room had a digital safe so any adverse comments about there being a lack or that they didn't work can be allayed(!!??).

The pool was a very quiet place to relax and the unobtrusive waiter service a welcome addition for a cold drink or snack.

The only criticism I would have would be how quiet the restaurant seemed during the week (weekends not as quiet), to the point where we didn't bother eating there - possibly we missed out but we preferred the short (car) trip into th town.

Also as a footnote, the wifi didn't connect but that's probably a good thing really.......

Highly recommended.

“Pure relaxation in beautiful setting, close to pretty seaside town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2010

We stayed for 2 nights in a standard double room. Room was amazing - very spacious and stylishly furnished and had our own private terrace area. Great facilities in the room including 28" flat screen TV. The pool is superb and plenty of loungers and seating whether you want sun or shade. Breakfast was excellent - buffet style, but everything you would want - we were totally full each morning. The hotel is set in a quiet residential area which means we got a great night's sleep. However, I would say you really need a car if you stay here unless you want to stay at the hotel all the time. We took the car and explored the surrounding area, and also ate out in the evening in Moraira both nights. The hotel restaurant looked nice, but was a piano bar style and we preferred to be down by the sea to get a bit more authentic and lively atmostphere (D'Gust restaurant was good). We couldn't get Wi-fi access anywhere in the hotel which was a bit disapointing - the staff tried to help, but couldn't make it work. Overall, though we had a thoroughly relaxing and peaceful time in this very luxurious hotel.

“A Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2010

Stayed with wife for 3 nights through the Semana Santa holidays, and enjoyed every moment. The hotel was perfect for what we were looking for: relax, good food and beautiful grounds and surroundings. The hotel was not easy to find, and we had to rely on our faithful GPS navigator, but this turned out to be an advantage, the neighborhood of summer houses was peaceful and interesting to walk around. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with views of the surrounding hills. The mattresses were as good as any I have tried, bath robes were thick and the bathroom was beauty. The food at the hotel's restaurant was top notch, and a good value for the price. The included buffet breakfast was very good. Service was excellent, but in one opportunity, when the staff apologized and treated us to some excellent wine and cava. The manager also treated us to a spa session free of charge. The spa is a small but well appointed room with teak floors and granite walls, very pleasant, but unfortunately the water at the jacuzzi was lukewarm and the jets lacked pressure. I wouldn't recommend spending the spa fee to try it, rather save it and check the many other spas in the region. The walk downhill to the beach was pleasant, but the uphill return was a little taxing, not fort the out-of-shape. The region of the Costa Blanca was a pleasure to explore, although a little bit overbuilt, but I'm afraid that's Spain these days. Overall, a fantastic stay in a beautiful place.
