“Hotel La Sort Moraira - Imagine yourself relaxing in...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2010

Hotel La Sort Moraira, is located right in the very centre of Teulada Moraira. It is less than 20 metres from the beach and 50 metres from some fantastic bars and restaurants.

Hotel La Sort is a small, but very chic and trendy hotel, has eleven stylish, elegant and well-equipped rooms – the triple glazing makes the room silent: perfect for those relaxing lie-ins.

One one side, the hotel overlooks the wide, palm-fringed boulevard running through the centre of Moraira and on to Moraira Castle. The stunning Moraira Marina acts as the perfect visual backdrop to the castle. The other side commands fantastic view across Moraira’s Playa D’Ampolla beach and on to the impressive Penon d’Ifach (Calpe Rock) in the distance.

The hotel rooms come quipped with virtually silent air-conditioning, a large LCD TV and free Wi-Fi allowing guests to remain connected throughout their stay. A particular benefit of this is the ability to make Skype calls free-of-charge. Each room has Jacuzzi in the bathroom, a very comfortable bed and a well-stocked mini-bar, perfect for those afternoons where you just want to relax on the balcony or terrace and enjoy the sun.

Breakfast at the hotel is simply superb, with a range usually only found in international chains, including croissants, crusty breads, cheeses, cold meats, fruits, cereals, a wide range of eggs and, for the Northern Europeans, a very good quality cooked breakfast.

Why not take a table in La Sort’s bar? You can sit on the wide boulevard overlooking the beach and enjoy the finest, freshly brewed coffee accompanied by the lightest, sweetest patisserie while you plan your day in Moraira.

The hotel does not have dedicated parking spaces, however, Moraira has plenty of free parking spaces and a huge car-park just 100 metres away. Ask nicely, and the staff will transport your luggage for you.

Hotels are buildings with views and facilities. What makes Hotel La Sort stand out from the crowd are the people. From the owner, Juan, to the reception, kitchen, restaurant and cleaning staff, all are very attentive, very courteous and very helpful. I am sure Hotel La Sort will exceed your expectations. Go on, give it a whirl, you won’t regret it.

“A world-class boutique hotel on a beautiful sandy cove”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2009

There is absolutely nowhere on the Costas that is anywhere like Moraira. And the La Sort hotel is without doubt the best place to stay in Moraira. Despite what other ‘Moriara hotels’ claim in their advertising, none of them are close enough to town for you not to feel a bit isolated. In contrast, you can stroll out of the La Sort and, depending on your mood, immediately be walking along the sea-shore or the beautiful marina or around shops and restaurants. The hotel has eleven rooms that have uninterrupted views of the beach and get the afternoon sun, while the other eleven rooms look across a wide boulevard with palm trees and fountains and get the morning sun. My partner and I stayed for a month in one of the beach-facing Penthouse rooms that come complete with a good-sized roof terrace and automatic awning – we’d suggest that it’s well-worth the extra.

The hotel-style is ‘modern chic’ throughout – but also has nice little practical touches like free broadband (easily fast enough for Video Skype or online TV), a good-sized digital safe, quiet individually-controlled central air-conditioning, automatic air-fresheners (which actually smell nice!), and beach-towels and parasols available at Reception if you need them. The breakfast is far broader and more substantial than you’ll find in many Spanish hotels – if you want eggs, bacon and sausage then they’re there, as is wonderful French bread and croissants, fruits, cereals, cheeses, cold meats and, of course, superb Café con Leche. You may see a few other reviewers’ comments about there not being coffee or tea making facilities in the room. This frankly is typical of even the very best Spanish hotels. The locals don’t tend to drink tea and I suspect wouldn’t dream of insulting their guests with instant coffee. If you fancy a brew-up in your room (this applies anywhere in Spain) we’d recommend bringing a small travel kettle with you.

In total contrast to one reviewer’s negative comments about parking and the attitude of the manager and staff, we found both to be excellent. There is a tremendous amount of free parking in Moraira. Having parked in front of the hotel to check in and unload your luggage, we would recommend you park longer-term in one of two places (each is only a couple of minutes walk away, and both appear completely ‘safe’). The first is a huge car-park up the street. On Fridays they hold the Moraira market on the part of the car-park that is FURTHEST AWAY from the hotel – so you would need to move your car a few metres to the part of the car-park that is NOT used for the market if you’d parked in the wrong place. Hardly very difficult – and (despite what the irate reviewer claimed) we found it to be very clearly signposted in English. Anyway, if you don’t want to park there then there’s another large area of free parking amongst the pine trees on the beach beside the hotel. Although this is mainly used by people visiting the beach, it’s also ideal if you’re staying at the La Sort. Street parking (marked with Blue lines) is all Pay-and-Display.

And finally, we found all the staff – whether the cleaners, those on Reception or the owner Juan himself – to be highly attentive, always courteous and professional, and extremely friendly. In conclusion, we found the La Sort to be a superb base and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

“Rude and unhelpfull staff, Especially the manager!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2009

What a shame!! This hotel is in a beautiful location, And the hotel itself is very nice and clean, But i am afraid that's all the good i can say about it! We landed ourselves a nasty £120 fine when the staff decided to tell us to park our car in a designated car park that was actually out of bounds on fridays for a market! And consequently towed away! Then the tow people damadged our HIRED car and we had to pay an excess of £400 to the car hire company!! The manager was incredibly rude and totally refused to be held accountable for the fact that his staff didn't warn us about the market (you tend to take somebody's word for it if you're not familiar with the area! Despite the SPANISH signs! We didn't scream & shout, Just tried to reason with him but he refused to take any responsibility ( bet he's onto a winner with the tow people!) The room service was very overpriced and there are no coffee making facilities in the room! No food was incuded not even breakfast and we paid nearly £900 for 5 nights!!

“The best hotel in Moraira, by far.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2009

We have stayed in Hotel La Sort for many years, after trying all of the hotels in the area, La Sort wins hands down, in terms of location, quallty, value and service. The staff are always professional and friendly, more similar to a 4 or 5 star hotel. The location is perfect, right on the beach , it's best to book a beach facing room, so that you can go to sleep to the sound of the sea.

“Fantastic little hotel on the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2009

I stayed in Hotel La Sort in Moraira with my husband for our wedding anniversary after being recommended by a friend. We were not disappointed! The hotel is a lovely, modern, boutique style hotel and fairly small with only 22 rooms. We had a Penthouse room with beach view and private balcony and the view was out of this world. We were able to take breakfast one morning on our terrace which was lovely, and the next morning had breakfast in the dining room. Breakfast was reasonably priced at 11€ given the large selection of hot and cold food on offer, and the coffee was delicious. The rooms were very comfortable with a modern design and a Jacuzzi bath, some English tv channels and a well-stocked mini bar. Everything was very clean and the staff were all very friendly and attentive - we will certainly be going back there again!
