The hotel it's very nice, rooms are a good size and clean, however you won't have reception on your phone in most of the rooms.
Room service it's good and on time, if you order breakfas it will be there at the time that you asked for.
The spa and swimming pool area are nice but could be cleaner.
To get to the city you need to get a bus, from the hotel you need to walk about 10 mins to the bus, and then half an hour on the bus sill get you to the city centre.
Nice hotel to relax and enjoy their ammenities but not to visit the city.
The staff are very nice and friendly.
Not free internet, a bad point for a marriott.

stayed at this hotel and i have to say its one of the best hotels ive ever stayed in,,the staff are very friendly, polite and very helpful,,the outside is as beautiful as the inside,, from the lobby to the room,,we had the deluxe room and wow i didnt want to leave,, everything was spottless there not a bad thing i can say about it,, they had even put a bottle of red wine and a card wishing us a happy anniversary which was really really nice of them,,never expected that,,we ate at the long weekend restaurant,, i give them a 9 out of 10, best burger i've ever had,,looking forward to going back again thanks Dalmahoy for a fantastic weekend.

The Dalmahoy Marriott is an ideal location for a resort hotel. It is 20 minutes from Edinburgh Airport, 20 minutes from the Livingston shopping and outlet centre and 20 minutes from Edinburgh city. It boasts two excellent golf courses with a golf academy on site, an 18m long swimming pool, gym and exercise classes as well as an outdoor jogging track. Access to the swimming pool, steam room, spa pool and sauna are free for guests.
Although buses into Edinburgh run every quarter of an hour from the resort's main gate, taking a car to Dalmahoy is definitely recommended as it is at least a ten minute walk to and from the hotel from the main road.
Rooms are comfortable with all the Marriott signature touches however staff training at Dalmahoy would benefit from a review. There was no porter available to help with our luggage and the rooms in the hotel ( converted from an old property) are a long way and several small staircases from reception. Reception staff were smiley but not friendly and recited information about the hotel giving the impression of going through the motions rather than genuinely trying to be helpful.
Wi-fi is expensive - GBP6 for an hour. This Marriott has also adopted the stealth tax of adding a tray charge to the room service cost - in this case GBP3. We did not eat in the restaurant although we have had breakfast and dinner on previous stays. The food was fine, but expensive and I would recommend travelling into the Livingston centre for a choice of restaurants.
Overall Dalmahoy is a comfortable and pleasant hotel with an excellent location but could do with a staff upgrade!

Returning for our third consecutive year, this experience just gets better and better.Okay, we've had some issues in previous years.I am VERY happy to report to you and my listeners that I have mentally awarded this hotel the first ever 'TRIUMPH' AWARD.
As a 'daughter' of the tv HYACINTH BUCKET/ ANN ROBINSON style personality (VERY SCARY!) ,praise is not necessarily the first notes that fall from my lips!.The only thing that I was dissappointed about, was with the room type.MY FAULT. I booked a standard room. A 'marriott' standard is still way beyond most. But when you've tasted 'superior'...
A standard 'repeat guest 'THANK YOU of QUALITY flowers did ease the disappointment.To be fair, they did attempt to change us. By this time though the world had descended for their FANTASTIC HOGMANAY CELEBATIONS.
This select hotel has managed to stay just that.Their standard of clientelle, helps your stay be one to remember,not regret. Come here for staff who KNOW how to serve,understand attention to detail. An upmarket ambiance in beautiful grounds.Wheelchair super-friendly too! Or is that just for me? I think not!
