“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2011

We had a wonderful 5 nights at Le Clot. Our ensuite room was lovely, so quiet., and with such a comfy bed it was hard to get up in the morning. We had fantastic food, Stephanie is an amazing cook and both Stephanie and Colin are excellent hosts and make you so welcome in their beautiful farmhouse. The pool and the gardens are great, so tranquil. We didn't want to leave and will definately return. Thank you so much Colin & Stephanie and not forgetting Max who loves all guests.

“Superb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

Le Clot has much to offer both for adults and children. First of all the accommdation, food and wine are excellent. The hosts are exceptional and we were made extremely welcome from the moment of our arrival. The highlight of our stay was how much our children aged 14, 12 & 9 enjoyed themselves, helping with the hens, picking fruit from the garden, playing and taking the dog for a walk and at night-time tucking into the home-made pizza and other food. The area has a lot to offer with great scenery and some beautiful and medieval villages nearby.

“Again and again...... we'll be back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2011

As we wend our way through France we always try to spend at least a couple of nights with Colin and Stephanie, even if it means a detour.

There's always a warm welcome, accompanied by Max (the world's friendliest dog), fantastic meals made with home-grown and local produce, a beautiful home and pool in an idyllic spot overlooking the Viaduc du Viaur. And each time we return there is a fresh surprise as Colin continues to enhance the already lovely house...... Meals in the large barn or just outside are a special treat.

Le Clot is close enough to good roads to visit large towns (Albi, Rodez, Millau, and Toulouse), and the fantastic Aveyron and Tarn countryside and pretty villages, so there's something for everyone........ or you can just chill by the lovely pool.

A special place to visit...............

Ian and Lynn

“A Haven of Hospitality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 May 2011

Stephanie and Colin are accredited francophiles with a wealth of knowledge of the area. Their three roomed guest house is in a delightful picturesque quiet location yet within a short distance of the N88 Albi/Rodez highway, where one wakes to the distant sound of donkeys and one's only concern is whether or not Colin remembered to secure the chickens in their pen the night before. This part of France is not blessed with a wide choice of good restaurants (unless you drive to Albi some half an hour away) and hence we were very lucky to dine with our hosts on 6 of our 8 nights in residence. Indeed, Stephanie's cooking is no mere convenience, it is imaginative, plentiful and tastes really good. The wine was pretty good as well (!) and all guests should ensure that they sample her home made preserves and salami. Stephanie is an enthusuastic gardener and most of the ingredients come from her garden.

“Everyone should stay here - and eat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 May 2011

We loved our week at Le Clot. Colin and Stephanie are the perfect hosts. Stephanie's cooking is to die for - do book at least one evening's supper when you're there.

Our room was beautifully decorated with a lovely en suite shower, toilet and washbasin and the bed was one of the most comfortable we've slept in.

They're very deep in the country and you really need a car to get anywhere touristy, however, there are plenty of local walks and/or bike rides and if you ask nicely, they will let you take Max with them. There are some beautiful rustic French villages within a few km, and others further afield. Albi and Rodez are the nearest towns.

The views from Le Clot are amazing - especially the mist rolling in over the viaduct in the morning. Worth getting up for. There's a pool and a wide area of grounds. If the weather's poor you'll be fed in the amazing barn conversion - otherwise it'll be outside on the terrace.

A perfect break!

One word of advice - if you're planning to drive down from Calais plan to do it over two days, not one.
