“Super - we''ll be back!”

We stayed for 3 nights as part of our short break in the Dales and chose Raines Close Guest House after reading previous reviews - we were not disappointed! Geraldine and David were the most hospitable hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them and we were warmly welcomed. Our double room was very adequate, looking out on a lovely tended lawn (shame about the rain), and way across the rolling fields. David's breakfasts made a great start to the day and kept us going for most of the day. We highly recommend Raines House and allied to its situation just a couple of minutes walk from the lovely village of Grassington it made for a perfect stay.

“Excellent base for the Yorkshire Dales”

We stayed here for four nights in early August as part of a short break that we arranged at the last-minute. This meant that we spent three nights in one of double rooms and one in the twin. Both rooms were excellent although slightly different in layout. The double room was more spacious but with a small ensuite. While the twin bedded room was smaller but had a larger ensuite and also opened out onto the lawn. Sadly, it was raining on that day so we could not make use of it.

David and Geraldine were excellent hosts throughout our stay. The breakfasts are excellent offering a wide choice of options which you can personalise.

My wife lost her purse just before the end of our break and we only discovered it whereabouts when we returned home. David very kindly offered to retrieve it for us and send it on. When we return to Grassington I know where we will stay.

“Very nice stay couldn't fault anything!”

We stayed for 2 nights for my birthday weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Geraldine and David were very pleasant and friendly and made a superb breakfast. The house was in a lovely position and our room no1 looked out to the hills and was very picturesque! Sitting in the garden on both evenings was lovely and relaxing! We went into Grassington both nights for our evening meals to the local pubs they were fairly busy and we just managed to get a table without booking, the food was good in both pubs recommended by the hosts.
We went into Skipton where there was a good market and went round the castle too. Before returning home we went to Harewood house which was nice and completed our lovely weekend. We would recommend you staying at Raines Close! Big thanks to Geraldine and David!

“An absolute gem!”

My wife and I have stayed at Raines Close on several occasions during the last few years, and every visit has been a pleasure. The B & B itself is a very attractive building with a beautiful garden and lovely views across the hills. It is situated in a prime spot very close to the centre of Grassington and the rooms are very comfortable. David and Geraldine are extremely pleasant and will do anything to help visitors. We really can't praise Raines Close and its owners too highly. We can't think of a single negative, and we will definitely be going back when we next visit the Dales.

“A Little Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2010

Due to a local wedding we had trouble finding accomodation in the area but were so glad to find this cosy, homely establishment set in lovely gardens. Our room was a small double- quite compact but we had sole use of a private bathroom across the hall. We were only a short stroll from the town and would recommend Raines Close as a great base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Geraldine and David were wonderful hosts and his breakfast was the best we had in our 9 day trip. Unfortunately we could only stay one night but would liked to have stayed longer.
