The hotel clearly takes advantage of lack of mid range accommodation option at Athirappilly. The room, mattress, pillows, air-conditioning, bathroom are all well below average or poor. At this price, one would expect something average or above average.

Riverock was an excellent experience. The picturesque resort, right by the river. Hardly 10 minutes drive to the Athirapally waterfalls, the location is calm and serene. Right place for families, with big lawns, river facing and silent and safe locality.

The food served was excellent. Variety of food, Quality of Staff and Management, will ensure that you recommend the location to others too.

this resort is located right on the banks of the river chalakudi. its a no frills resort with basic amenities. we checked in for a one night stay. check in was absolutely no fuss with no documents demanded??!! i had booked a luxury a/c cottage. this ensured that we had the pleasure of sitting on our porch and watch the chalakudi meander by throughout our visit. the room was clean , however the furniture looked very dated and ill maintained. staff comprised of a bunch of bihari boys who were unobtrusive and fairly efficient. bathroom had geyser and a very clean loo. we found the staffs insistence on bathing in the river very strange but realised everybody else was doing it too. food was monotonous with absolutely no choice and we had to stick to the basic chicken curry and rotis throughout the visit. all the touristy spots are located close by. we had a self driven car hence commuting was not a problem. the extra hike to the base of the athiraplly falls was worth however it is definitiely not recommended for the infirm. also a visit to the peringalkuthu dam is recommended.
