We picked this hotel based solely on price as there was an event in Bologna which jacked up the prices of the hotels in town. It took us quite a while to find the hotel, which is tucked away in a non-desrcript industrial park about 20 kilometers from Bologna. The directions provided by the hotel were not enough to find it and we did drive around in the dark for quite a while before we found it. We had booked a twin room through Expedia but the night clerk was quite rude and insisted we had booked a double. When I said I could provide him with the confirmation showing a twin room, he became quite loud and argumentative and refused to look at it. The room was spacious and well appointed with wireless internet and amenities, although the decor was very 1970's Holiday Inn. Overall, for one night, it was an ok value, but I certainly would not recommend staying longer that that.

We have just spent a week in the Emilia Romagna area of Italy and used the Nettuno as our base. We were impressed with the hotel and the service provided. The staff were always extremely accommodating and helpful - nothing was ever too much trouble.
The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the rest of the day. There is a restaurant at the hotel but we did not use it.
We hired a car for the week of our stay and it has to be said that a car is essential as the hotel is located about 6 miles outside of Bologna. There is a railway station in Castel Maggiore about 2 KM distance- the hotel will be happy to provide details of timetable. But be warned because trains do not always run. We got stuck in Bologna late Sunday evening and were told the train was not running as there was a strike.

Bologna is a lovely city and there is much to see and do. However make sure to go when they are not on holiday (Mid August) as most of the restaurants etc will be closed )

We spent just 1 night but it was a pleasant experience... The hotel is located in an industrial's area just outside Bologna (u need a car), the room was ok, the personnel very nice but the top is the breakfast (vote 10!!).. if you love cakes, fruit juices and sweets you are in the right place... Great balance quality/price

We stayed at the Nettuno for one night in order to catch a very early morning flight out of Bologna Airport. The hotel is approximately 15 minutes to the Bologna airport with easy, direct access. However, I would only stay at this hotel if I had to in order to catch a flight out of the airport. The hotel was in an industrial location, so semi trucks were driving in front of the hotel all night long, which made for a VERY LOUD night. Further, the staff was not particularly helpful or nice, as we were traveling with a 5 month old child and they could not provide a cot or item for her to sleep in and were very unapologetic about it.

On the positive side, the restaurant in the hotel did provide room service for us and the food was quite good. Further, the room itself was clean with modern furnishings. But, this hotel is only good for a quick trip to the airport and it seems for business travelers, who seemed to get the best service from the hotel staff.
