“Worth finding”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011

This hotel is very well placed for a stop over on a trip from the channel ports to the south, its half way between Calais and Montpelier. Note that it is about 45km off the motorway, but it is a pleasure to drive through some lovely countryside. You don't need to double back to get onto the motorway as you can rejoin at a different point. We would recommend this hotel primarily for its excellent restaurant where the quality of the cooking is first rate and good value. The hotel has a very nice swimming pool - very welcome after a long motorway drive. The bedrooms are only average, the breakfast mediocre - but there's no alternative if you want something before heading off.

“Peaceful location and good food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2010

We have stayed here twice travelling south. It's in an area with few hotels. Lovely grounds and a nice pool. Staff very friendly. Breakfast overpriced.

The restaurant is in the old watermill which is charming and interesting - have a look upstairs. Both set menus very good value but don't seem to change. Service good and fair wine list.

Rooms in separate block. Rather plain but OK for a night. Area very peaceful but walls betwwen rooms are paper-thin so try and get one at the end of the block with mini terrace.
