“WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER”

My new husband and I had booked a weekend away for our honeymoon. We were just married the day before. On arrival, with confirmation number in hand, we were told "congratulations newlyweds, but sorry there is no room at the inn". They over booked our room and didn't even call. We were left with no place to stay on our honeymoon and they didn't. They arranged no other place for us to stay. They were even supposed to send us a gift certificate to make up for it...and guess what...it never arrived. I'm not one to complain, but they caused us a nightmare honeymoon!

My Husband and I wanted a nice peaceful get away. We booked at the Mill Inn Elora after viewing the rooms etc on line. It looked lovely, big roaring fires, entertainment a one destination mini vacation.
We called to book the room, they asked which room and gave us a choice of 3 we picked the Riverview Room, big mistake the noise from the gorge was deafening we never slept a wink and we should have been advised this room was noisy as we were first time visitors.
We arrived Friday afternoon, only to see a notice on the door advising no entertainment this weeked due to functions, well we were also never advised of this so there go 2 of the 3 reasons we wanted to stay at this hotel, first reason lovely rooms well it was not lovely.
We go down for dinner to a big stone dining room freezing, and guess what no fires there goes reason number 3 for staying here. The dinner well my husband had a very nice meal, mine had to be sent back, I ordered a Mill Inn Signature Meal only to find it not eatable, they did not charge us for this and that was the only bright spot out of the whole trip.

So all in all a pretty miserable mini break that cost us a lot of money. We told the receptionist on checking out all our issues she said she would have the GM contact us, well this has not happened yet and needless to say we wont be going back and we will let our friends know this is not a place to stay

“BEWARE!!!”

We purchased a "romance" package for my two friends that were married on the friday and arrived at Elora Mill Inn for Saturday and Sunday for a "mini-moon" after the wedding. They told me how disappointed they were! The Chalet room we reserved was less than clean and did not have the amenities that you see on the website! The "private Patio" had sliding doors that were bolted closed! When they called housekeeping about getting a fire started, the employee scoffed and said "oh, the fireplace doesn't actually work!" There was no sitting area in front of the fireless hearth as stated in the room description. There were no robes-and for a spa, I find that a cheap detail. As well there was an open bottle of Vaseline in the bedside table-GROSS!
As the wedding party who wanted to send our dear friends on an unforgettable and relaxing end to a beautiful wedding, we were all disappointed! We spent over $1000 for the two nights and I called to complain and speak to Management. I left two messages and no one has called me back!! Unbelievable!
Please don't go here, spend your money elsewhere!!

“Old world charm but does not cater to business travellers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

Elora Mill Inn is a charming old mill in the Town of Elora which is a great town to visit and walk around in. The Mill Dining Room was lovely and the food selection and service were very good. However breakfast which is included in the room rate is not served until 0730 making it hard for business travellers to have something to eat before departing for work. The rooms in the main inn were very small and one of them had no chair at all to sit at plus they are not really set up to accomodate lap tops and working in your room. The ones overlooking the Gorge have a great view but the sound of all that crashing water at night does not lend itself to a great sleep. The rooms in the building across from the main inn are larger but could use some refurbishing (window frames, windows without screens) and are at the top of a really steep staircase which is difficult to navigate with bags and I would not recommend it for older people. The hallway light shone in the cracks in the door all night. Probably a nice weekend spot for couples but not suited for working trips

“Needs cleaning and updating”

Have stay at the Elora a number of times over the years for business meeting. This time I was really disappointed. The place was dirty. dust bunnies in the room and the hallway rug hadn't been vacuumed in a number of days. The rooms are dated and could use an update. When I checked out I told them about my concerns and all they said was OH! Apparently they are in receivership, I wonder why. On a positive note the food in the restaurant was very good. Thje chef is a keeper.
