Bandhavgarh National Park-known for the highest density of tigers and extremely popular for “Charger” who ruled for almost a decade of nineties and happened to be the most feared and talked about male tiger, for both the tourists as well as the wildlife managers there.
I was super thrilled and excited about our trip as it was post rainy season. This was completely different from the experience at Kanha National Park. A dense forest with picturesque beauty and numerous wildlife attractions…
Most mobile networks don't work at national parks which I believe is the best part. You’re completely cut off from the human world - no calls and no disturbance.
At first everything seemed good at White Tiger Forest Lodge… people, place, staff… but it turned into a nightmare at the end which forced me to think over the importance given to foreigners?? The staff here is more geared towards Western tourists than Indian visitors, which is not expected at all from a Govt. run hotel, though the rooms were spacious with basic amenities.
For instance, we checked out from the hotel at 12 noon and left our bags at the reception as we wanted to buy some souvenirs for family and friends. When we returned one of our bags was missing. We immediately informed about the same at the reception desk with a hope that they would help but none of them bothered to assist us in any way. We spoke to the manager as well but in turn he frowned upon us and ignored the whole incidence instead of helping. So we decided to file an FIR, the manager was informed about the same post which he replied saying that they’ve found the bag. Their behavior clearly indicated that one of the staff members has stolen it. The hotel actions made me believe that if I would have flashed a dollar during my trip the service would have been a lot different and this whole episode of baggage loss wouldn’t have happened. I would certainly not recommend this hotel to anyone. I would not stay here again.
Anyways, the route that we got in our last safari i.e. zone number 3 has recently been opened for tourists. The route seemed untouched as there were no proper paths defined, with tall grass all around. We saw nilgau, monkeys, spotted deer, wild boar, wild cat and some beautiful birds. Interestingly we spotted a tigress busy marking her territory… a sight which is very rear… and we felt extremely lucky to see her doing so. A truly rewarding experience…

I chose this hotel for my second trip to Bandhavgarh National Park. The place is very close to the main gate of the park which reduces travel time. Good scenery can be enjoyed from the view points in the hotel. Swimming pool is available which was neither clean nor big enough. The restaurant serves decent fare. Not a bad place to stay when visiting the park - it is priced above the budget accommodation but less than luxury ones.

They offer excellent food. Indian food, sometimes bordering on spicy, but excellent food. There are some options for the Europeans and American tourist too, but not too many. The resort has a large sprawling area with ample recreation facilities, a nice pool and decent rooms. Like all state owned facilities, service is a bit slow, but not an irritating factor. In fact, nothing can unsettle you much at the White Tiger Forest Lodge after you've done watching a few tigers on the tiger safari in the morning, had a cold beer or two and spent the mid morning watching birds on the huge trees inside the premises, followed by a lavish spread of lunch. In short, a great place to relax and rejuvenate.

White Tiger forest lodge is really an exciting place to stay ,specially at night...those looking for some thrill and adventure should find this place very much upto their expectation !!! Staff members are all very co-operative starting from the Managerial level ,to the restaurant boys,as well as the helping hands .
