Without a doubt this is a noisy hotel.
It was a hot night anyway - temperatures hovering around 30 at 21:30 so windows that open wide were essential as in keeping with many smallish German hotels - Aircon was not part of the package. The problem was that the windows only opened as far as the curtains would allow - which was not much at all.
With the windows open came the noise - railway line not too far away, street outside with boy racers and bright lights - and opposite was an all night bar - that kept going till at least 02:00.
The hotel staff are friendly and the meals (I have stayed here in cooler weather when a colleague was so cold she could not sleep without her coat) good. Breakfast is a bit wooden but it fills the holes needed for a day’s work. There is an underground car park for about ten cars too - always a plus point when travelling as otherwise it’s the local town car park or the roadside.
The overall impression is a bit dated and faded – but it’s clean and tidy – good bed, bright lights to work by and a competent bathroom. Did not use the internet connection – but it has to be paid for.
If you decide to stay here check out the room first and ask for a quiet one.
