Don't give this place any business. We booked after checking out the motel online, thinking it would be great to catch the early ferry just down the road.
Online, the rooms look good, nothing too fancy but quality. No Pictures of the outside. We were told that there were only two rooms available, a king or queen size room. We booked both as we were traveling with friends.
Once arriving at the motel, our jaws dropped. A 2 storey light blue motel with faded paint. We asked the owner to see one of the rooms before agreeing to stay the night. We were given the key to room 1. Room 1 it turned out was recently renovated, new paint, couch and table. A small 13 inch flat screen tv, but was acceptable as the room appeared clean, and it was only a one night stay.
We decided that the motel was satisfactory and went and confirmed
The reservation. We were given room 1 and 3. Upon entering room 3, we were devastated. The room
Was dark and smelled of urine. There were no lights, merely lamps. A small tube tv sat directly beside the bed blocking the window. A small stand-alone closet stood at the foot of the bed and smelled badly. The bathroom smelled worse, had rotten floorboards and a 1950 sink. The bathtub was black and most wall tiles were also. There was no lock on the door, 2 phone books and no phone!!
Walls were paper thin, and did not close properly, wind was blowing through the openness.
The large king size room 1 had a large bathtub, but no curtain for showering and tiles were chipped or missing.
Room 1 cost 99 dollars a night, where room 3 cost 89.
We would have left, but rooms were not refundable.
Sleep was not easily obtained that night, morning could not come soon enough.
At checkout there was nobody at reception, so keys were left in the room.
I would rather sleep in the car as previously suggested.
