“One of the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I would have liked to stay longer here. The staff, the ambience, the dining, the gardens and best of all the bedroom by the meandering swimming pool were just perfect. The shower in the semi garden bathroom was very clever and because we could walk out of our back door straight into this pool that took us on a trip round the other rooms - we kept going for a swim.

Room Tip: I really loved the idea of the swimming pool winding past your doorway - so chose a poolside villa

“Beautiful place, excellent service, irresistable food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We have been to the resort four times and we have not been ever disappointed. We always stayed in the meandering pool villa as we enjoyed walking out of the room through the french door directly to the pool. Place is a gem, beautifully kept, tidy with excellent service from the reception up to the room service.
Food is absolutely delicious, big choice on the buffet and the cooks ready to prepare you the dish out of menu just to make you happy.
Ayurvedic massage center is the must to visit. The only downside are quite high charges for the internet. Other than that everything was excellent. We definitely go back!

Room Tip: If you go for a meandering pool villa ask for the one closer to the lake. Villas with the private po...

“Perfect lakeside retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Booked direct with the hotel on their 3 day Ayurvedic relaxation package which includes all meals, taxes and transfers from/to Cochin. We added one night in their houseboat on the lake. Our booking was handled with great efficiency and without any problems. We were met at the airport and stayed in a meandering pool villa. These are great rooms; lovely outdoor bathroom, large room with possibly the best bed we have ever slept in, a shady terrace to read on and the enormous pool a step away. The hotel is small and seems to have been developed in an evolutionary manner but it is beautifully put together and sits in small but cared-for gardens alongside the lake. The infinity pool by the lake is lovely and there are plenty of loungers as many of the guests are Indian and do not use the pool. There is a preponderance of indian food at the buffet to cater for the Indian clients but this isn't a problem and there is plenty of choice. The Ayurvedic spa was exceptional; a great choice of treatments, excellently administered by skilled and friendly staff. The houseboat trip was great fun; very friendly crew, a spacious clean bedroom and good food. In summary we were delighted with this hotel for a relaxing break and could not fault KLR. All the staff without exception were the most pleasant and friendly we have ever come across on our travels. We strongly recommend this hotel

“a beautiful and relaxing experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This is a beautiful resort with spacious bungalows set in extensive, superbly maintained grounds. Even the bushes were dusted! You can choose between rooms opening directly onto the long meandering pool or one with a quiet private pool/jacuzzi near the infinity pool which overlooks the lake.

The staff were attentive and extremely kind. The food was good, but not exceptional and expensive for India, especially with the luxury tax. There is a significant charge for WIFI and INTERNET. In all our other hotels these had been freely available.

We can recommend this as a resort hotel for relaxing and passing your time in a lovely environment. It is less suitable if you want to be out exploring the neighbourhood and local restaurants.

“HEAVEN ON EARTH”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We had the best vacation @ this resort during our entire trip to Kerala. The welcome team @ the reception was most gracious. The cottages were well furnished. Our pvt pools with jacuzes were bonuses. Housekeeping attended to our calls rt away. Followup calls were made to ensure v were comfortable. The spa girls gave us amazing massages. The food was exceptional & live performances added a feather to the cap.Variety of food was amazing.Evening tea was refreshing with hot snacks.Sunset boat ride with live music was relaxing.had injured my foot earlier & everybody was ready 2 help me all the way.I have already recommended it to my family & friends & will revisit again. Sorry but only -ve part is that my camera ran out of batteries & the curio shop didnt have any!.

Room Tip: cottages with pvt pools are definitely to be recommended
