We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel, at the end of February. Due to it being low season, we were lucky enough to have a choice of rooms, and opted for the one with two single beds, but the best view. Renovated only 18 months ago the whole place was beautifully decorated in a simple, modern style. The rooms were off a central open patio, with a communal kitchen on the ground floor, where breakfast items were laid out each morning, and there was a fridge, coffee machine and dishwasher. Breakfast was very informal and you just helped yourself to bread/toast, cake, fresh orange juice and coffee.
The owner was very friendly and spoke good English with many suggestions for local restaurants and sightseeing tips. You were given key to front door to come and go as you pleased.
I loved our room.. aside from the amazing view, the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. There was a full-size bath and the shower was great. There was air-conditioning which could also heat room if necessary. Only Spanish TV channels (but we weren't there to watch TV!)
Best feature of the hotel was the sun terrace, with deck chairs and table and panoramic views over the countryside. So even if you had one of the rooms without a view you didn't miss out too much.
Only down point was lack of parking. Hotel suggested Plaza Espagna, just below hotel, but we had to park a bit further away, which isn't too bad if you're fit enough to wheel your luggage up a couple of steep cobbled streets.
Vejer's a great little town.. we found plenty of bars/restaurants for a couple of days. Didn't even get chance to venture into the modern half of the town. Great base for exploring area... can recommend Cape Trafalgar, just 15 mins or so away.
