“Bravissimo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

We stayed at the Saturnia Tuscany Hotel for two nights and will be going back for a longer vacation in the near future! The hotel was wonderful and the restaurant not only convenient but also delightful. The property is spacious and very clean, the spa welcoming (and the massage welcome!), the grounds very well maintained, and the pool area simply perfect! The view (poolside) is unbelievable and I cannot wait to enjoy it with warmer weather... The staff was kind and very helpful -- even in the middle of the night! It should be noted that the hotel is only a couple of minutes away from the "terme di Saturnia" (the local thermal baths, on the same road) and that the famous Cascate del Gorello (a natural sulfur spring open to the public -- and free!) is less than 2 miles away. The village of Saturnia, atop the opposite hill, is quaint and a nice place for a quiet dinner or a stroll amongst Etruscan ruins. Peaceful and picturesque, to say the least... The hotel is also the perfect "base camp" for cyclists and trail runners looking for challenging roads to practice on! A+ all around!

Room Tip: Some rooms are 100% wheelchair-accessible (shower room included).

“yoga retreat in a little place called heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

I attended a yoga retreat here with a large group. The setting was amazing~ beautiful, peaceful with the most fabulous staff who greeted us every day with a smile and the best cappuccino I have ever enjoyed! Not an unhappy person on site. The owner is there almost every day asking you how you are enjoying your stay~ The spa is fantastic, I highly recommend the cranial sacral massage and the ultra sound massage. This is a not to miss retreat ~.

“Luxury at affordable price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

I stayed here with my boyfriend when we were self-driving around Italy. The hotel was grand, and every luxury taken care of. It's not exactly the quaint farmhouse experience that I had in mind, but with the oppressive summer heat I was overjoyed with the air conditioned rooms and pool. Four-star luxury for the same price as what we paid for a double room in a run-down youth hostel in south of France! We couldn't believe it.

I'm incredibly heat-intolerant (which makes me a pretty useless Australian) and I might have preferred the pool to be a little cooler, however it was still refreshing and a perfect respite from the heat. I've read in earlier reviews that some people didn't like that the air con turned off when you removed your keys, however that is generally the status quo in Europe and it's a sensible energy-saving measure. The room cools quickly when you put your key back in the slot.

We ate every night at the nearby towns (I recommend eating at the restaurant overlooking the town square in Saturnia!) so I can't comment on the main restaurant at the hotel, however the breakfasts were lovely. I also had a wonderful massage in the day spa (although I would have appreciated a little more air con in the spa rooms). The stand out for me were the staff. Roberta greeted us at the front desk with the genuine friendly hospitality typical of the hotel.

I would recommend this hotel to anybody wanting a luxurious four-star experience in rural Tuscany. Like I said, it's not exactly the quaint vine-covered farmhouse that I had in mind, but when I was lounging by the pool with a cold G&T and a book I didn't care.

“Amazing views, service and food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2011

We stayed (sadly) just one night here and enjoyed every moment of it. We will be back on our next visit to Italy. We drove in from the south and were worried that we'd have trouble finding it, but there were signs for the hotel as soon as we reached the village. The staff was very nice and helpful, spoke very good English and arranged our dinner reservations, etc immediately. We sat by the lovely pool enjoying the views of the valley, and drank cocktails from the poolside bar. For dinner we ate on the deck overlooking the gorgeous scenery and enjoying one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. The food was superb, the service very good, and the ambiance was to die for. The room we stayed in was small but comfortable. The bathroom was had was big, though the shower was a bit small. I also got a nice massage at the spa. A real gem in Tuscany with plenty of fun things to do around the area and a nice respite from the touristy beaten path!

“FABULOUS RETREAT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2011

Set in landscaped countryside this is a fabulous hotel for any occasion. Just outside Saturnia, far enough away to feel secluded but only a 10 minute drive away from civilisation.
Beautiful setting, staff very helpful and friendly, couldn't really find fault with it.
