My partner and I stayed here for one night in early November. During our stay, the host was warm and most welcoming. We were delighted to find our room to be spacious, clean and well decorated. The farmhouse is located in a serene location overlooking the surrounding rolling hills - located close to the surrounding hilltop towns of Manciano and Saturnia but well away from any traffic. The breakfast provided was good. I would not hesitate in recommending this place to others. Excellent value for money and a good experience during our time in Tuscany.

Wonderful views, the sea in the background, relax in the swimming pool, possibility of walking, thermal baths and medieval villages in the area, excellent wine and food and, last but not the least, pleasant conversation in the evening at the beautiful table.

If you are interested in a few days escape from Rome or simply are driving North, but have gone up the A1 too many times, stop at the Quercia Rossa 2 hours up the Via Aurelia and just over the boundary into Tuscany. The last 15 minutes will be up a dusty road (you will not pass anyone else) to the top of a hill with a view a Medici would appreciate. You will be greeted by Alex or Roberto who will show you your room, if they can tear you away from looking at the view to the West to Porto SanStefano and the sea 20 km in the distance. Your room will be large and furnished with 19th century antiques.
The pool, quiet and out of sight of the house, has a similar view. Dinner on a communal table will have a printed menu with each guest's name and a kind introduction to everyone will be presented by Alex. The food will be from the garden on the left and the wine from the next village make the trip worth itself. Alex is trying to have as much local produce as possible and to have a zero carbon footprint for this very quiet and peaceful location. The sheep on the next hillside, will I am sure, agree with me. Having now sung praises for Quercia Rossa I will ask Alex that he might stretch his carbon footprint and seek wine from a little further distance. Altogether a wonderful place to return to.
