Imagine sitting with a glass of Chianti, underneath the cool shade of several olive trees, overlooking typically Tuscan landscapes in the distance, and the blue waters of the swimming pool a few feet away: this is Le Pisanelle. Driving through Tuscany with our classic cars, we arrived at this beautifully renovated villa outside of Saturnia, and were immediately greeted by Milly and Roberto, the vibrant, lively owners of Le Pisanelle. Welcome to their world! Roberto helped with the baggage, while Milly showed us around her 'home'. The rooms were identified by color; ours was the Beige room, with a window overlooking the beautiful gardens in the back. The room was relatively small, but the bed was verrrrrrrrrry comfortable. There is a small minibar and tv in the room; bathrooms are European-style small, but with all the necessary amenities. The real charm of the Pisanelle, though, is its surroundings, with beautiful landscaped gardens, a nice size pool, private parking, and impressive entrance gates. To top it all off, Roberto(or Robby, as Milly calls him) will impress you with his culinary talents, if you decide to stay for dinner. And ask them both about their 'other' hobbies: Roberto was a former World Champion racing boat driver; Milly has written three books of Italian poetry. All in all, if you are looking for a unique and personal Tuscan experience, Le Pisanelle will not disappoint you.
