“Fantastic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

On a long trip from England to Malta one of our overnight stops was at this hotel. We also travelled with 2 cats and were made so welcome at this gorgeous hotel. The guy on reception was friendly, helpful and directed us to the commercial centre a 2 min walk away from the hotel where you could find every type of restaurant and shops galore. A blissful evening was spent wandering around and eating and drinking in the lovely Irish pub!!
Handy parking next to hotel and free!! sat nav coped no problem. If travelling thru Italy stay here, you won't regret it. Please can there be more Ibis hotels in the south of Italy!!!

Room Tip: No tip as our assigned room was fine, on 3rd floor.

It's nice hotel, ibis typical style room, quiet area and good breakfast. Very efficient checkin and checkout. Near big shopping mall Gigli is a advantage. I've been stay in this hotel for fourth times and all is a nice experience.

“great location to see florence with low budget - need a car!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

This IBIS is just like most of the IBIS, I stayed at worldwide. Next to Gigli shopping center, close to the highway and about 30 minutes away from the city center. You need a car to get there. There is a huge parking lot next to it and it is quite close to Calenzano train station to travel inside historical Florence.

Just be careful of the shower, hot water may suddenly turn cold! Not an issue if you are traveling on budget.

Nice Staff!

“Good location, excellent value for money! Would definitely stay again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with a friend, we paid €45 per night for a twin room. Hotel was a bit hard to find on first day as we had no car, took us over 2 hours to find it but a lady who owned a shop nearby offered to give us a lift to the hotel.

It is actually quite easy to get to the hotel from the airport and city, from the airport you take the SITA shuttle bus to city (€5) and then from the city take the CAP/Lazzi bus from the CAP ticket office (very close to train station) to I Gigli Shopping Centre which is right beside the hotel. Journey takes approx 40/50 mins. Tickets cost €1.20 from machine or €2 from driver. The hotel receptionist will print off a timetable for you however the last bus from Florence to the hotel is at 8:20pm so we had to be back early every night but there is a big shopping centre with loads of shops and restaurants next door so still had plenty to do in the evenings.

The rooms were modern, clean and spacious and were cleaned every day. The rooms come with an LCD TV and wifi is very reasonable too (€3 for 3 hours then €5 for a 24hour recharge card) The restaurant, bar and lobby were all very nice too, there are 2 computers with internet that are free to use and the staff were very helpful and friendly and all spoke english.

Breakfast was €8.50 per day for a buffet which had a great selection of drinks, cereals, cheese, fruit, meat etc. There is also a 24 hour bar that serves hot food.

Overall I had a great experience staying at this hotel and it was definitely great value for money and will definitely stay here again if i return to Florence.

“Day in Florence”

Ibis staff very helpful. We booked 2 rooms - 1 twin and 1 double. The twin room had a really awful sewerage smell in the bathroom. When reported to the receptionist she immediately gave us another room which was very good.

It is about a 20 minute drive to Florence Centre. We parked at the station which was very handy to visit most sights and the Sightseeing buses leave from here.
