My husband and I recently visited Prague, Czech Republic. It is a beautiful city. We rented a car and drove from Munich, Germany to Cesky Krumlov, CZ and up to Prague. The traffic in Prague is wild to say the least, so we decided to stay outside of the city in a small village called Karlstejn. We found a lovely bed & breakfast called Slon Penzion (-------------). What a great bargain!! It was a lovely old house, whose host was so accomodating and whose English was very good. Karlstejn is famous for the beautiful castle in the town. Most people that visit Prague go to Karlstejn (as a day trip) just to visit the castle. Our bed & breakfast was less than 1/2 mile from the train station, so we left our car at the b& b and rode the train into Prague. It was about a 30 minute train ride each way. And, the cost of our ticket, each way, was $1.20 (american dollar) It was very convenient and we didn't have to worry about driving in the Prague traffic and finding a place to park our vehicle. Our room at Slon Penzion was large with a sitting area with windows that looked out across the land to the Karlstejn Castle perched up on the hilltop. We had a full bath with shower right in our room. The room was great and the view was even better!! We had breakfast each morning at the Slon and 1 night we had dinner as well. The food was delicious. The breakfast was included in the price of our room, but dinner was extra. It was just great!! A great location, reasonably priced, a gracious host (who spoke English), and a beautiful view of the Karlstejn Castle from our windows! We would strongly suggest staying here and avoid the high hotel prices in Prague. Debbie & Robert Austin
