I love Villa La Massa. It's in the countryside of Tuscany a bout 10-15 minutes out of the city of Florence. It sets on the Arno River so beautiful and serence. There are two buildings. The main building which is very Europeon in it's aesthetic design. It use to be a private Villa now converted to a Villa/hotel. The smaller structure acrossed the property us used nicely for large families to occupany alone. (4-8 people). They have a quaint Chapel for small destination marriages or renewing of vows. There is also a impressive wine cells...great wines!!! Local wines are WONDERFUL. The food is great! I wholly recommend this property if you are looking for quite ambiance, authenic decore, good service, food, and drink!

The hotel is not in the city centre, but it is relaxing, great rooms, and the restaurant food is superb. I note there was a review by "bestmilano" stating there was no one to park the car. Walking 15 yards is not a big deal.There is a shuttle into town, but I did not use. I had rented a car and with GPS was able to navigate Florence and Tuscany with ease. Definitely recommend, but need to realize when booking it is not in city centre, which I liked. The staff was attentive to all our needs.

Mere adjectives as “perfection,” “excellent experience,” and “magical” are no substitute for and do not fully describe the experience at VLM.

VLM Superlatives:
--elegance, beauty of VLM on the Arno
--the Tuscan hills
--unmistakable charm of the hotel--a direct result of its Villa D`Este DNA.
--the restaurant Il Verrochio: elegant dining and breakfast buffet—grilled fresh veggies for breakfast, anyone?

But, all the above cannot justify VLM’s 5-star rating without the excellent personnel executing VLM’s mission---from the front office manager, Tamara (I’ve suggested a promotion for Ms Trambusti: Mayor of Candeli) to Marco Montagnani, Gen. Mgr; and, the rest of the staff—Michaeli, Luisa (Ms Candeli), Maurizio, Nicola, Vito, Ruth, Emmanuela, Floriana, Lucca

Finally, to fully realize VLM’s superlatives beyond a one-time snapshot experience, a return visit is imperative, peremptory; then, you can truly appreciate the consistency in quality, service.
