When our daughter and her fiancé decided on the Chateau du Puits es Pratx in Ginestas, south west France as the venue for their wedding, they could not possibly have made a better choice. Absolutely everything about our stay there was wonderful, from the hospitality and kindness of our hosts Tim and Sasha Hazael, to the courtesy and helpfulness of their staff. From the comfort and cleanliness of the accommodation, to the choice and quality of the food.

The wedding arrangements too, were perfect. Just the way our daughter had envisaged. Sasha and Tim made sure that everything went without a hitch and that nothing had been overlooked or left to chance. They even implemented a contingency plan in the event of a change in the weather.

Ginestas is an idyllic, typical provincial French community with a population of less than 1500 residents and yet the village and its surrounding area have so much to offer. Life is leisurely and relaxed; the locals are very friendly and unite to ensure visitors are made to feel welcome. Many of our wedding guests were accommodated in local bed and breakfast establishments and everyone, without exception, was delighted with the arrangements.

This is rural France at its best, with its unique local culture, traditions, customs and way of life; comparisons cannot be made with England. I would suggest that those who fail to understand or appreciate the ways of life in other countries and who seek English breakfasts, drunken noise-filled nights, lodging in unremarkable boarding houses usually run by apathetic proprietors, would be better suited to a few days in Blackpool!

We recently attended a dinner and concert evening at the Chateau du Puits et Pratx. I have to say ,we very very impressed. The food was excellent, service first class and the music, a guitarist and piano duo, were superb. Overall, a fantastic night in a stunning setting - we will definitely be back for any future events similar to the one that we attended.

Our daughter and future son-in-law chose this hotel for their wedding venue. The hotel and grounds are delightful and the rooms spacious and very clean. The owners and their staff could not have been more helpful in ensuring the wedding went without a hitch. The food during the stay was beautifully cooked and presented using local produce. The wines were delicious and reasonably priced. The surrounding area was charming with many interesting places to visit. We would certainly aim to stay here again and would recommend this hotel.

Its very very basic here. They sell the fact that for a wedding they have a lot of space. When in fact one of the rooms we were shown was a family room for eight people. One bathroom! and four of those people would be on two ikea sofa beds which actually pulled out would mean you touch toes.

When told about putting up the extra guests, and making an enquiry to the B&B's near by.. we found out that they were actually people's houses in the village that didnt mind giving up their bedrooms to earn a bit of extra cash. Not a B&B at all then.

The rooms where SO basic. I mean a student rooms has more furniture and decor than this. There were three or four rooms done to a nice standard the rest were just awful. A horrid cheap bed with an old matress, a canvas wardrobe from ikea and a bed side table... not anywhere near even standard.

The town near by doesnt really have any life or soul at all and most things are shut passed 11am. for 85 euros for a very very basic room there and no breakfast given at all even though we had a meeting with them.

The picture currently is deceiving as the picture shown is infact the back of the house and is not in good shape, certainly does not look like the pictures they show of it.
